No one woke up one day and went out and found a religion. If you have never had one, why would you look for one? People don't decide one day to be a certain religion, that is thrust on them when they are a child. It has been proven that people who are intelligent and investigate everything critically are most likely to be atheistic and the Pew Institute found through scientiific research that most religious people don't know much about religion. Buddhists & other religions are atheistic, also.
I think it's notable that Atheists keep coming back to listen to apologetics... you'd think if they were really SURE of their beliefs that they would have better things to do.

I don't think that anyone deserves to be treated with kid gloves because of their age. They know the risk they're taking by going online, and if they don't, they'll learn, which is something they'll definitely have to learn soon. It might even teach them to not let the things others say get to you too much. However, TAA is a horrible sexist, and I think that's something that he definitely deserves to be criticized for.
To be fair, any kind of sex when you look at it at the wrong angle is really gross. Well except for two women. I'm talking about the ball a-hole angle that some porno directors like to use. The one where all you see is balls and a-holes. I mean that is just gross. I do understand that the fear is irrational, but in terms of someone of the Muslim faith, under what circumstances would they ever be hurt by the medias stereotypical portrayal of a muslim? Personally, I *hate* when atheists that don't understand the subject matter that much go after apologists and talk a load of nonsense. That's when I see the same phrases being parroted over and over. Those type of atheists have very little of their own views on the matter. They've just gone and borrowed someone else's whom they consider to be some sort of authority. Very little critical thinking is involved. It pretty much almost seems like hero worship, imo.
I don't deny that it is hero worship. A lot of people do have problems with being able to think for themselves and being brought up in a religious background is mainly responsible for that because religions teach people not to criticise or question but merely just to accept principles of faith unquestioningly. It just gets tiring when such people replace one form of groupthink for another.
If only they taught kids skepticism and critical thinking before the college years. I think it's the only way to really combat the problem. Unfortunately I doubt our government would want anything to do with such an idea. They certainly don't want a bunch of informed citizens up their asses every time they try and blow smoke up ours.

Very good video. I commend your tone and your level-headedness in your summing up of the rights and wrongs. This is a much better response than TAA's (although obviously as he's the one being criticised I'd expect him to act differently. I didn't watch all TAA's video as I found it a tad irritating. After a minutes of his rabid frothing and hysterics I said 'Oh fuck off' and turned it off. Don't worry TAA I did the same thing when watching the "Goebbels Speaks" documentary ;-)
I'm subscribed to both Laci and TAA, and they both make very interesting videos, but I do have to agree with you. You post a video on youtube which is obviously going to be highly offensive to some people you have to expect people to go off on you, some people just do it differently than others. This probably wasn't the first time she's espoused these particular opinions so is probably used to people disagreeing with her, and from her channel she doesn't seem to be bothered in the slightest.

From what I gather, disgust is symbiotic with hate. And hate is when you fear something doing something to you that may hurt you. Essentially, disgust stems from fear. I am a big fan of Laci, I think she has some great points, and especially since she is so young, I think her passion for the truth is impressive. You mde a good point I went back, and watched apologetics videos. They are pretty nasty, and I think she deserves what she gets. I bet she didn't see the original video. In theory what Laci said was sound,but Apologetics was so hateful. I really blame religion for doing this to her though. Her pastor needs an ass-kicking, along with her parents.

One aspect of this person's screed is that it was eliminationist rhetoric at it's worst. As you say, this is no shrinking violet, but a person dedicated to using a segment of the population for political gain through the use of fear and hatred. Her age and gender are irrelevant. Personally, I *hate* when atheists that don't understand the subject matter that much go after apologists and talk a load of nonsense. That's when I see the same phrases being parroted over and over. Those type of atheists have very little of their own views on the matter. They've just gone and borrowed someone else's whom they consider to be some sort of authority. Very little critical thinking is involved. It pretty much almost seems like hero worship, imo.

I don't deny that it is hero worship. A lot of people do have problems with being able to think for themselves and being brought up in a religious background is mainly responsible for that because religions teach people not to criticise or question but merely just to accept principles of faith unquestioningly. It just gets tiring when such people replace one form of groupthink for another.

Very good video. I commend your tone and your level-headedness in your summing up of the rights and wrongs. This is a much better response than TAA's (although obviously as he's the one being criticised I'd expect him to act differently. I didn't watch all TAA's video as I found it a tad irritating. After a minutes of his rabid frothing and hysterics I said 'Oh fuck off' and turned it off. Don't worry TAA I did the same thing when watching the "Goebbels Speaks" documentary ;-)

I'm subscribed to both Laci and TAA, and they both make very interesting videos, but I do have to agree with you. You post a video on youtube which is obviously going to be highly offensive to some people you have to expect people to go off on you, some people just do it differently than others. This probably wasn't the first time she's espoused these particular opinions so is probably used to people disagreeing with her, and from her channel she doesn't seem to be bothered in the slightest.
