  • i can just smell the coolant burning as i watch this video!

  • i love these car dealers! hes all worried about the bumper when in reality that car is a piece of crap! why dont they worry about doing stuff like changing the transmission fluid and filter as im sure thats got origional fluid in it. Cars like this avenger just make me sick to look at. They should be burned as i think someone else said. ITs a dam chrylser for heaven sakes! yuck yuck yuck! change your dam trani fluid and stop worrying about the bumper. oh and change the engine coolant also!

  • my friend thought his dodge avenger could beat my pontiac grand prix thats an 07 and his avenger is a 97 well i smoked his ass.

  • Could you review the new avenger? :[

  • boo....i thought the avenger was a always good looking car...sorry to hear that they have so many problems

  • Sorry but I have a 96 avenger es well over 160,000 on it never had a problem and mine is one of the fastest cars on the road in Philly sorry to say I didn't change much just put work into the shot that's stock on the engine and trans unbeleivably smooth unbelievably fast

  • I have this model,2,5V6.I think,that fuel consumtion is to big.But anyway,I am satisfact.

  • the transmission on the 1995-2000 Dodge Avenger

    Transmission

    5-speed manual

    4-speed 41TE automatic

  • At 1:43. There's your problem

  • If its the 2.5 , Its probably the Crankshaft position sensor. I dont know exactly what the car is doing but mine suddently acted weird 2 times since i got it. Just missfire alot when reaching normal operation temperature and eventually stalls. Then start just fine. Never did it again.

  • I guess that the 2002 & 1999 Chevy Suburrbans were both sold.

  • I have a 2000 Dodge Avenger. It is by far one of my smoothest rides I have ever owned. It may not be the fastest but it is the nicest looking cars you can easily afford. I love the Dodge Avenger in comparison to the Chrysler Sebring (same years) The Sebring is more of a chick car.

  • I bought 1996 dodge avanger

  • i buy one of the these 3 year ago , for the look sell it after 3 month , drinks more then me and so sloooow

  • @gotcha671 Learn to use English. Damn retarded people like you.

  • @Kyntheria lool

  • I have a 1998 avenger es and it has 180,000 i have never had a major problem with it. Sometimes when i gas it and let off the idle drops kinda low but it has never died.

  • i this its 1 of those cars u have 2 let sit and run 4 a min b4 u take off and drive it

  • i have a 99 and it died every time it idled and it ended up being the MAP sensor was going bad

  • reminds me of the day and a half i had my 98 avgenger running after owning it for 3 months -.- this car sucks

  • Its the cam sensor located in the distributor. you have to replace the whole dist. $299 advance auto with cap and rotor. replace the crankcase sensor also for $60. its underneath the battery tray on tranny bell housing. good luck. I promise thats it.

  • Does the Mechanic come with the car? I had a 98 Avenger once and It gave me nothing but problems so, I traded it in for a NISSAN.... FTW!!!

  • @ABVNRML2U I am thinking about buying a 98 that I've found actually... What problems did you have?

  • that sounds like the idle air control valve is going bad... ive replaced em before... idk... it would make the check engine light come on

  • its funny ive never had problems like this with mine? i have 155,000 on mine, but i also blown out my tranny

  • Comment removed

  • se te apaga por que eres un gringo pendejo! yo tengo uno igual y jala con madree

  • man that car is in bad shape mine has 153xxx miles on it and i have never had problems like this

  • fuel injector, Timing belt, Throttle position sensor. the stalling could be anything

  • mitsu motor american car ahaha dodge knew they cudnt make a good motor

  • the feul pump may be going out or sending unit not reading proper.Or idel control is not right

  • My friend has a 2000 Sebring LXI and she has the exact same steering wheel same everything

  • As a car aficionado, I am frequently asked what the worst car company is. I always say that every company makes good cars and bad cars, but Chrysler is, in my opinion, the worst car company by far. Especially DSMs.

  • Wow, that car's definitely a Dodge! Check out the really LOW idle!

  • Wheres your test drive video of your car

  • wow it's stereo sounds so awesome. The car looks awesome if i was near you i would buy this in cash lol.

  • did you try checking the fuel pump? i had the same problem you are and i turned out to be the pump.

  • What happened to the original key i saw a while ago?

  • 666 videos nice!1

  • defsf

  • You know, this seems to be a consistent problem with the Mitsubishi 6G7 series engines. We had two Caravans, a 1988 we bought new and a 1994 we bought pre-owned with 30K miles. Each had the larger 3.0L Mitsubishi 6G7. Both had stalling problems. The 88 did it within the third year of owning it. They had a ton of other problems later on too. After those two maintenance nightmares never again will I buy a Chrysler.

  • Somewhat cool looking.

  • Though It won't stay running, it's got a pretty good souding engine...

  • hey kyle, where did you get your camera, and about how much? just curious so i can upload some videos. thanks.

  • Have the mechanic burn the car, they are god awefull. The 2.5 is almost as bad as the 2.7

  • the body style of those avengers are waaay better than the new ones.

  • dodge always had problems. good luck.

  • @MrRichierich1990 Along with every other car brand out there.

  • [I only remember this car because your mother hopped in it.

  • hmmm, I would say based on this update the car is not holding up all that well. Hopefully your mechanic can get it running like new again.

  • lol

  • well i can see why the person traded this in the person prolly knew it was due for some repairs and got smart and traded it off i would say it may have a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump aint working not sure cause i hate these cars cause i cant fit in one they just too small lol

  • this is actually a rebadged mitsubishi eclipse

  • Good to know that the Avenger wasn't really a good car. I almost got one when I was about 17. Glad I didn't get one. I didn't wanna be sitting at a red light and have my car die and have 8 people behind me yelling at me to go.

  • Does this Dodge have that sludge prone engine? If so what a POS.

  • @XenomorphLV426 ummm I think you may be referring to the 3.2. Although I'm not familiar with these engines, I've heard nothing but bad news about these older mitsu engines :/

  • @saabkyle04 the 2.7 V6 engines are the ones that give the sludge problems along with Timing Chain/water pump failures. Some people get them to last 200k+ but most seize up and are locked way before that. Whats surprising is when those engines are running fine they're silky smooth. As smooth as a the VQ30 engines in the Nissans.

  • @saabkyle04 the sludge prone engine is the Chrysler 2.7. Those were horrible!

  • @Fred924 Yep and they have a rankest valve knock

  • @saabkyle04 the 2.7 lol

  • @saabkyle04 I have a 3.0 v6 in my mini van and its awesome the only good thing thats left on the car.

  • @saabkyle04 man they are so horrible. I've got a 96 avenger . Them engines always need some kind of work.

  • @saabkyle04 Nah, the sludge prone engine is the 2.7 CHRYSLER V6, Mitsu did not make that one. Did you ever solve the idling issues?

  • @XenomorphLV426 No that was the 2.7L V6. That engine was in Concorde, Stratus, Intrepid and Sebrings

  • @XenomorphLV426 2.7 is the one with the sludge problem. i am pretty sure. its was in the stratus and intrepid.

  • Screw the hater who did a thumbs down!

Awesome video, great job with the editing and your patience with trying to get this car running.

  • @1bentley4ever Thanks dude, as always, I appreciate it :)

  • @saabkyle04 Thank YOU! :D

  • This happened on my dads car and we got it fixed. It was the engine cradle wiring.

  • looks like it needs a fuel filter. if the problem was a sensor the MIL malfuntion indacatior light will be on.

  • @Jakeman2164 actually one is just not painted, afterall it's a cheap car, there's only so much that can be fixed on it lol

  • Strange. I read up on past Dodge vehicles and the Avenger certainly didn't do well with Consumer reports in terms of reliability or engine performance after a long period of time (years)

  • @Jakeman2164 haha I didn't notice that lol.

  • now I see why she traded it back in XD

  • i think da car is js get old

  • Vacuum leak or IAC issue most likely.

  • -Takes car to mechanic-.... Kyle: Hi sir, Im here to pick up my 2000 avanger. Mechanic: Oh yeah! It took quite some time but we were able to diagnose the problem sir! Kyle: Well what seems to be the problem sir? Mechanic : We have determined a major issue with the motor sir. Kyle: What is it sir? Mechanic : Its a mitsubishi motor sir! Kyle : Uh oh!

As you can see im really bored. LMAO!

  • @chorstma44 lol good one

  • I noticed the door handles are different colors. The drivers side is black and the passenger side matches the rest of the exterior. It would look so much better if they both matched the exterior color.

  • @FunkyShaf well the drivers one must've been replaced at one point, it has not been painted, it's a cheap car anyway not worth the fix

  • At least that car would have stalled in a parking lot. We had an '01 Honda Odyssey that had a transmission issue, the transmission overheated in the middle of a major highway and the car would not accelerate at all. The D4 light kept blinking, the transmission slipped, knocked, it pretty much was totaled. LOL

  • I like how the rpm needle changes color lol

  • @mrwireful10000 proves its still shiny after 10 years or so... lol

  • Sounds like a fuel issue.

  • So nice to see these cars again, really weird though that it just dies like that and then idles well.

  • Hey kyle.... LOOK AT THIS COMMENT.... have your mechanic clean out the auxilery air valve. its a major issue with the 2.5 v6

  • @iRobertsProductions I will get them to look at that, thanks for the tip!

  • idle air control valvle

  • They went up in miles

  • 6.05 Mountain music-Alabama

    God Song

  • Haha I love when repos show up
