Our desingers reply: "Almost every aspect of design is a compromise. In multihulls the balance of safety vs speed drives many design parameters. Parasitic drag makes a large percentage of the total drag of the boat and the topsides - the bow especially. Remember catamarans operate in high apparent windspeeds and at close apparent wind angles. You can make a safer (and slower boat) but some teams didn’t capsize so the design appears to be well placed - close to the edge but no over it."
We had those guys here in Plymouth. I Cant understand why the boats have an upside down bow design. When the front of the boat goes underwater the backward rake of the bow makes it dig in even more and so tries to flip the boat. I saw it happen so many times in Plymouth.
@barryperrins "reverse bow" allows more buoyancy at the bow and helps to PREVENT pitchpole and/or capsize. When you see the bow digging into the water (often rounding the top mark) is a result of the increased load on the front of the boat from the gennaker, which is fore of the center of effort, and thus tries to flip the boat forward (boat tries to rotate around the center of effort...like a hinge). The increased buoyancy from the reverse bows helps to prevent this phenomenon.
I loved it!! What an amazing machines!I wish I could have the change of sailig one of those. I love the editing as well. I don't know what's wrong with you guys, you might be one of the Flinestones! 10 sec shots??!! hahaha Go watch Ben-hur! Keep it up!
The 2 second long shots in this video are STUPID and give viewers headaches. Who is the editor on this? FIRE him!
Give viewers at least 10 seconds of time in each scene to take in the view, the details, etc. This is a beautiful boat and scene. Give the viewer time to enjoy and appreciate it!!!!
@Dilz00 Really? Is that what you think because you're an old fuddy-duddy blueblazer type who thinks multihulls are toys... or because you are an alinghi fan who got their butts handed to them?
@tjpeco haha fuddy duddy im younger than you and im from NZ fan who earned our shot at the cup fairly not run screaming to court to sort our problems.

the boats are great, but the editing is awful. I want to see them sailing for more than 1 second.

This is a very annoying video. Too bad. I'll bet there was some nice footage in there somewhere... on the floor.

Agree with some comments below - the cuts are too fast. We want to see some sailing!
To disagree with some comments, it is good that rich guys are spending money in America instead of parking it in overseas investments. Think jobs!

2 reasons no one cares about americas cup anymore;
1. its just become ever more a rich mans sport
2. dousnt matter which team is facing who, lets be honest, there all kiwis...

Less than 5sec a cut makes it hard to watch. It good but it hurts. Is that what you intended?
