Better, but their human animation work is still hovering around the same quality as Toy Story 1 here. They've done *much* Better in the Bioshock: Infinity gameplay.
@TheAnthMan You're forgeting that this was made primarily by 2k Marin. I think they did very well considering how hard a Bioshock sequel was to make and they had to live up to the expectations of Bioshock 1. My only regret was not knowing who Delta really was... the man behind the mask.
@littlemaster22 Subject Delta was originally a guy called "Johnny Topside" who discovered Rapture whilst deep-sea diving, Ryan thought Johnny might be a spy so they detained Johnny and placed him in experiments with other "criminals" and innevitably the "little sister protection" programme. He was paired with Elanor after Sofia Lamb was confined to Persephone for creating a social uprising against Ryan. Check out the "Bioshock: Rapture [Book]" it has all this info. FANTASTIC book.
@KKINTI No, they used a sea slug and prossesed it, the slug is known as adam, what makes plasmids, big daddys, little sisters, big sisters, and misc things.
Andrew Ryan: "And so... Andrew Ryan offers you a toast..."
LET'S HAVE A TOAST FOR THE DOUCHEBAGS, LET'S HAVE A TOAST FOR THE ASSHO-OOOO-OLES, LET'S HAVE A TOAST FOR THE SCUMBAGS-SSS-S. EVERYONE OF THEM THAT I KNOW!
@auburnchick939 His "son", so to speak, was a creation made by Frank Fontaine (Andrew Ryan's rival) at the apex of the war that broke out between the two. Jack is essentially invincible because of the Vita-Chambers (of which is genetically locked to Ryan's DNA), and was hard-wired to do anything Fontaine/Atlas told him to do (Would You Kindly?)...including killing Ryan.
@BlackBoxInc One thing I never understood though, was why Andrew Ryan allowed himself to be killed. I think it was because he didn't know until later that Jack was actually his son and refused to kill him. Or to prove a point that he was not a human being, but a slave to Fontaine.
@AtlantaFiend He allowed himself to be killed to taunt his son on his lack of free will. Instead of Atlas ordering jack to kill him as a slave, Ryan decided he would do it himslef to mock jack and also stick to his idealogy.
I wonder why Lamb was adored so much...personally I'm not sure I would agree - an entirely free nation where your work equaled your reward turning into some ludicrous example of Socialism...
In hindsight...she WAS the only "normal-looking" chick in Rapture at that time, besides Eleanor who was like 13-16, way under the legal age of consent...
@MicahOmahaSuicidal Well, she and atlas maanged to do so because of charity. In a city that pisses on you, you feel alone and trapped. But when someone who is powerful and can take on ryan cares about you and treats you like you're worth something, you will do anything for that person, perhaps worshipping them. People thoguth when they came down to rapture that ryan's ideals were great, but when people got poor, lamb, fontaine, and atlas showed how horrible ryan's ideals are. Therefore, a war.
@ThomasHayden1995 okay, that makes perfect sense then. just as a side note though - fontaine and atlas were the same person. fontaine won the hearts and atlas convinced them to go to war by staging fontaine's death. but that makes sense, really it does.
@littlemaster22 that's what i meant...fontaine staged his death then used atlas as an alias to push people to the brink of war because everyone KNEW there was a fontaine-ryan feud and it probably wouldn't have gone so well but atlas convinced them to go to war as a different person than fontaine.
@ThomasHayden1995 Lets face it, poor people are poor because they are laid back and wanted handouts (I call them democrats), In a city where Ryanism, unleashed capitalism, is the economic system and there is no government you have to fend for yourself, there is no place for parasites. Ryan's ideals were correct, but in the end he was destroyed by the weak, those that desire what they refuse to work for, it is a shame really, cause they brought the downfall of the greatest city on earth.
@davedavedaveannoy1 You make Rapture sound like a perfect Utopia, Rapture's purely capitalistic society, with no social programs whatsoever, everything within the city was privately owned and came with a price. This included the city's food, health care, sanitation, and even its oxygen supply. There were few, if any, defined norms for businesses and labor, allowing unscrupulous business practices (such as overpriced vending service) to flourish.
@davedavedaveannoy1 This system alienated Rapture's less fortunate citizens, who began to resent Ryan as naive and elitist. Andrew Ryan's hostility to "parasites" and his paranoia of these poorer citizens led to the downfall of himself, as well as his city. This is why an unregulated Capitalist society would only lead to ruin, even Adam Smith the "Father of Capitalism" admitted that the government should have a small amount of say in business to keep it fair.
@USAForLife2057 He did fail, and government is needed. We cant have a substitute for it based from corporations. These corporations might do their job but like all companies they are vulnerable to corruption and deception and when economic bubbles burst and recession and depression ensues they like everyone else dependent on costumers collapse. We needed a limited libertarian government that holds only the most basic and necessary business and economic regulations.
@davedavedaveannoy1 and crimes that not to be made according to the moral objectivist are:
murder, robbery, and kidnapping, when he began to notice that people are starting to kill each other, the police were in charge, and when he began to feel the mutations, the legislators were to begin to intervene.
@NekoyX Very true, government is needed, no system can sustain itself without government, but in terms of economic involvement there should be no state influence. The markets will regulate themselves and set their own standards through innovation and competition, but a state is needed to prosecute the crimes of man and to protect its citizens from foreign threats. Outside of that however, the government has no business in medicine, income, regulation, or anything else. Power to the People!
While it is true Rapture collapsed, was not only because of unregulated capitalism (which I do not think that is the culprit), Rapture had virtually no government, the city was an organized anarchy, the objectivist, anarchy does not recognize, the government must protect citizens Objectivism recognizes 3 required in government organizations, and local advocacy forces, police and the ruled,
