Yeah, i too liked RipTide, i remember the orange robot that was on there. What was its purpose in the TV show? I heard someone say, but i forgot. Anyway, i plan on getting it on dvd soon, would love to have it with my other 80's shows on dvd. My favorite vehicle in RipTide was that red Corvette with the flames on the sides.

Sorry to tell you but you're wrong about the game show hosts. Those two gentlemen are Bob Eubanks and the late Gene Rayburn. It's the episode titled " Gams People Play"

Stephen Cannell was hard at work in 1983! He already established the A-Team in very early 1983 for NBC, Riptide in late 1983 also for NBC, and Hardcastle and McCormick for ABC.

Great theme song, although slightly forgotten after all these years....glad to hear it without the NBC promo / voice overs!
