It sucks to think you're this beautiful girl with all these friends having fun, and you make a bad mistake and your friends are dead and you're standing in front of a judge in a jail uniform and handcuffs.
Thanks God that we don't have DUI's in larger number here in Denmark because we allow our youth to drink when they are about aged 14 or 15 in connection with their confirmation.
They know what alcohol can do to them before they can drive, so once they earn their permit, they know that there is no room for experiments.

I remember when they did this at Vista Ridge, my friends and cried so hard durning the memorial service. It was so sad. thankfully it wasn't for real.

my point is that a drunk driver's mindset is completely different from that of someone who wants to go out and murder people. they are both incredibly heinous but i don't believe they deserve the same punishments
@jkfleury123 Alcohol impairs judgement. People do and say things while drunk that they would never do sober. The only mistake drunk drivers make while fully aware and in control is to drive to a place where they know they are likely to drink. Once they've started drinking they're no longer making decisions with a clear head. And you mention the families - will incarcerating a drunk driver bring their children home? Punishment is not the only goal of the legal system.

Trust me i feel bad like my heart stops beating for this young girl that has to face her 20 yrs hard time....but nobody will bring back to their family those kids killed in that car accident.
My conclusion is that life sucks, and i hope for all us that next one will be better, because the one we have is a real shit.
