It is a good thing to have good self esteem for ones self as long as your humble about it however, an unhealthy self esteem is one where you think very highly of yourself it causes this amazing nauseating feeling in people when people like you spread your smugness around like your God's gift to the world! The resignations/etc thing was happening to our party when the neoconservative faction rose after 9/11.
While most small-government conservatives went neoconservative, a few left for third parties, others retired. Ron Paul was the most notable to stay a small government Republican even after 9/11.
I hope that in the following three years, we Republicans of all flavors can put off our arguing with each other until we finally defeat the Democrats in 2012.

Repeals provisions of the federal criminal code relating to uttering coins of gold, silver, or other metal for use as current money and making or possessing likenesses of such coins.
