If Idrive is so complicated than why do I see more e65+ 7s on the road than s550s or A8s? Just stop bitching bc your gay ass dont want to take this time to learn the controls. We live in a technology era where you have to get use to everything nowadays, even touch screen cell phones. I heard the idrive system is now so complex you can check email and surf the web on it.

@Rtree115 it's not idrive itself, it's the control button thingy which is hard to use during driving. if they could have a touch operated system then it would be perfect. the people who hate the system are old people or stupid people who are too stupid to use idrive and all the menus and probably too stupid to use a computer.

iDrive is one of BMWs increasingly frequent errors in judgment. Putting more steps between the driver and many useful functions is not a good idea, as any ergonomics student could have told them. It is a love of electronics taken to absurd extremes - the fact that you CAN do something doesn't mean that you MUST do it. I hope BMW will get back on track soon.

Actually some features that seem strange to the non BMW driver become 2nd nature and make sense once you own it for a couple weeks. This cars are manufactured with a different thinking and not to perpetuate the legacy technologies.

I love the 7-Series starting from the year 2001, I don't know why but it has to do with the way the taillights are placed on the back. Another improvement that I found very tedious was the gear selector, I found it very confusing when I went to test drive a 2002 745i, but it was very powerful and I loved it. Now, to all you Mercedes fans, I love the current gen. S-Class, not so much for the older models. I also test drove a 2000 S430 a couple years back, and I found the exterior very bland.

If u took the time to look at the date of this video u would see that at the time there wasnt a S65 or 63. You guys must all be from the US. Lexus is still a toyota, as for mercedes they are still number 1 when it comes to technology. Their cars are ahead of their time no doubt. I suggest you guys check the mercedes web site and go through what luxury items are available. I know that BMW is playing catch up with Mercedes, and I don't believe Lexus is half as good. I love the appearance of the A8L! I am an ex-7 series owner and would have loved owning an A8L. My company provides me with a new vehicle purchase up to every 2 years. I now drive a GS but don't like the size of the vehicle. Would you recommend an A8L? I did not like the reliability of my 7 series and I did not like how "flashy" it was. The A8L is most definitely more conservative looking but I heard it's even more unreliable. Also, I love driving and the drive of the vehicle is very important.

Mercedes S-Class are and always was best in class. Lexus strives to compete with Merecedes S-Class but never did. Mercedes are the most trusted and used luxury sedan by people, goverments, and famous stars. Mercedes S-Class is 100x better than the 7-series. I'm going to have to disagree with EuroSport.

The 7 series is much more exciting to drive than an S-Class and the LS is far more luxurious than the S-Class. From a consumer and investor standpoint, Lexus isn't trying to "catch up anymore." They're leading the luxury game. BMW is leading the "driver's cars" game.

Until this year, I owned a 750Li. It broke down all the time but it was a pleasure to drive. I didn't like how "flashy" (as my wife says) and unreliable the 7 was.

The LS was a pleasure to experience while shopping around but it wasn't exciting to drive.
