  • It's china quality.

  • So what's the difference between this and the adaptive cruise control system implemented into the Mercedes Benz S-Class since 2005?

Oh right, that one actually WORKS.

  • Volvo = Chinese made sxit!

  • Dumbasses don't you understand that Volvo is Swedish and the crowd was talking Swedish

  • @Blazzlie uum, no ford solld volvo to a chinese company. they are now MOSTLY chinese

  • @Blazzlie

You can always think so, volvo is Chinese. How many in the crowd was talking swedish?

I heard a lot more talk in other languages.

  • So you blaim your boss (Chinese owner in this case) when you fail to deliver. In no time, join the Greece and become International Begger!

  • Volvo. Made in Sweden.

  • made in china

  • Made in PRC

  • I'm sorry, but i'll stick to how breaking worked so far..

  • So is this how the cars of the future are going to come to a stop? I don't think I'll be able to afford a car everytime I break :/

  • next we'll hear about runaway volvos. Toyota will be off the hook!

  • *bang* volvo "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit"

  • For a few moments this guy felt what it was like to be Bill Gates ;)

  • I love all the voices at once right after the volvo smashes into the truck lol..

  • volvo fail AGAIN! lol thats why they sold volvo to china

  • look for Mihai Jitianu si Volvo S60

    Share the naughty Experience

  • LOL all new Volvos with new TBS aka Truck Breaking System.

  • this is why i dont buy a volvo

  • will I buy this car? Hmm.. But it will stop in a big Teeruk..

  • and the moral of the story is: don't drive distracted!!

  • It works pretty good.... it stopped instantly (in the truck)

  • I would not love to be in the representative's shoes!

  • Chinese quality. Volvo.

  • "many thanks to the volvo testers and apologizes to his family" XD

  • WOW! Instant Stop!

  • why did the airbag not go off???? lets say the break system had a fail but why dit the standard airbag not go off volvo???

  • @goofie1987 The air bag only goes off at higher speeds, at a low speed like that it can do more harm than good.

  • @goofie1987

because these cares are not meant t be driven. they're prototypes, with no people in them... hence an airbag would just be waste of money ;)

  • @goofie1987 since this car is a test car made for demonstration purposes only with no drivers inside, they chose to skip installing airbags which would only make the an investigation (if something went wrong) much more difficult and in the way.

  • OMG This is just too fricken hillarious...

  • To be fair it worked perfectly, it stopped instantly

  • @faczko76 .

China own the brand, Volvo is still manufactured 100% in sweden

  • FAIL....

  • haha who still ants to sell it XD

  • Mishaps shouldn't happen in real life, think about it..

  • The brand new Made In China....Volvo :((

  • whats the fuss about? It DID stop.

  • @HUrbieta i want to be you when i grow up!

  • Works as intended.

  • still, atleast its a volvo, so itll be indestructable when you crash into it

  • @Leimlek Nope. This was a test of a crash avoidance system that slams the brakes when it knows a crash is immanent. The system failed.

  • @philyt

but The safety city system works if you drive at less than 25km/s. This test was performed at 33, this is why do not work. Actual XC60 have city safety and yes, works!

  • @cubanomx2 And the system fails yet again, in a XC60 no less: B7J9yJxyMxs

  • @philyt

CC60 city safety works without any issue.

  • @cubanomx2 Obviously it doesn't when it fails multiple times in test situations.

  • love the guy at the end...

"we have given this car has eyes"

    reporter

    "must have been closed"

  • I want to buy that car!!

  • Why don't they use a soft material to test automatic braking?

Now there is a lot of damage

  • @Johans60 Because it would not look so spectacular. Its not a test, its a show for TV & Radio.

  • A little fact, the reason the system failed was because the car battery died, so in effect, none of the electronics would work, hence the crash :(

  • @beatlespersun If the car battery died, why did the windscreen wipers turn on? Looks like the brake lights are on also.

Either way, I think the technology is a great idea.

  • @toymachine76 Hmm...good point. Maybe we should investigate what happened & why

  • @toymachine76

the battery in a car is only used to start the engine. When the engine is started, all the power is generated by the alternator. The battery is not the cause of this tech to fail. This tech was designed to work only if the car is at 25kmh or less.

  • @beatlespersun A little fact for you. the alternator runs the car when the engine is on , not the battery. don't believe me? Start your car and disconnect the battery, you can go for a drive if you want and use any electric device in the car.

  • @tabamoura

exactly. the batt is only use to start the car

  • @beatlespersun

even with a battery died, the car have an alternator. The battery is only used to start the engine. The test do not work because city safety is designed to work only in speed of 25km/s or less. Actual XC60 have this feature and works!

  • @cubanomx2 Thanks...but someone else already told me this a few months ago. But thanks anyway :)

  • the car do have eyes.. "they must have been closed" hahahaha

  • I don't like this feature anyway. Where I live people drive very close to eachother on the freeway. If you leave a few metres of space between yourself and the one driving in front of you, the driver behind you will pass you and put himself in front of you. So with adaptive cruise control, your car will hit the brakes every few minutes. Either because you are too close to the one in front of you, or because you are too far and someone else will get in front of you.

  • @fluffster71 Not when it can estimate the relative speed between both cars. If you drive at a certain speed and the car who passes your closely and put himself in front -> if he also drives at a speed close to yours the system will perhaps push the break a little to keep the distance (and relative speed can easily be calculated in mSeconds or less). It wont break so you find your head in the glass :)

  • @fluffster71

Perfect situation for a pileup... In a highway, keeping distance from a truck can help keep your head on your neck,

  • @fluffster71 do u live at turkey jst wondering lol

  • sounds silly, just to get there 2-3 seconds quicker

  • more than likely that some goof simply forgot to enable the feature.. (or accidentally disabled it)

  • the main thing is that they got a whole truck to test volvos damage. hahaha that made my lough

  • 'they must have been closed' hahaha

  • al menos sirven de mal ejemplo =/

at least they are usefull for a bad example

  • é o resultado por ter se unido a china....

  • Cagadas acontecem nas melhores famílias.....

  • It's so funny. Sorry to say that. Anyway I trust in safety of volvo. However, I have used Mercedes for28 years.

  • lol

  • thats funny, i wont buy a volvo like this
