But that's not as important as my second point. 2, "no grace...but that was the night before Christmas" ...Grace began at the cross, not his birth. "For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness" - Heb 9:22 ... I don't mean to nit-pick...if you love the song and it touched you GREAT....but it bothers me :(

I agree, but when he says no hope no grace and no light, he means that everything was dark until our Savior was born. Christmas started it all, and THAT is why it is so important. People were without hope until Christ was born. It symbolized hope for the life of men. Maybe not for everyone at the time, but now, yes.

The song has a really great concept...although I have 2 problems with this song: 1, Jesus wasn't born on Christmas (Hint: Shepherds don't graze their sheep in the dead of winter) It was most likely spring sometime. So no, it wasn't the night before Dec 25 that all that changed.

@YazooIsEpic Jesus was technically born on Christmas. Christmas is when Jesus was born. December 25th is just when the early Church decided to celebrate His birthday. Brandon isn't singing about December 25th. H's singing about the night that Christ was born.

On your second point, I think Brandon is saying that before Christ there was no grace, because it was Christ who offered himself as a holy sacrifice that would wipe away all our sin. And Christmas is when Christ came.

I don't understand the saying "Jesus is the reason for the season". Shouldn't it read "Jesus is the reason for all seasons"? Why only glorify Jesus in the time we celebrate his birth and not every part of the year He has given us. And if it has to do with reminding people the true meaning of Christams, the birth of our Savior, rather than it being about Santa Clause giving presents wheres the saying during Easter,the resurrection of our Savior, when people look for colored eggs a bunny hid.
