to evilliteraturecritic--i sorta agree. though its writers fault..the acting was perfect. but in the extended edition he is alot funnier/sassy and they got the warrior part down in Both versions of movie. the only thing they didnt do was the singing. honestly alot of his lines got cut. when i watch the extended ed. i see him as an outgoing person.

Orlando Bloom isn't really a very GREAT actor.. he is ok.

He did a good job as Legolas, not as BOOK Legolas, but probably better than any other actor could have portrayed Legolas on the big screen. He was also decent in Kingdom of Heaven but other than that, I really haven't seen much of him that I like.

Orlando LOOKED exactly as I pictured Legolas when I read the books - but... other than, there wasn't much similarity. I mean, in the movies he is this tall, silent (handsome) elf... while in the book he was this tall, funny, singing, (handsome) elf warrior prince!

I agree he did not portray Legolas as near as much of an awesome character as he is in the books, however I think that is mostly because of how much story you need to cut out to fit a book into the timespan needed for a movie. Aragon was better in the books too.

Orlando is a somewhat good, somewhat bad actor. Kind of like, he can only play roles that fit him, because he can't really act out roles that don't, which in actor is supposed to know how, but he doesn't really seem to. I think he got by with his handsome looks, but his awkward acting is.. well.. noticeable.

I think he did ok in this film. But I don't really mind, because he was a HOT elf.
