  • I think it looks beautiful, maybe completely out of context as per the explanation but the physics of the smoke particles and fluid dynamics are incredible.

  • most annoying music i've ever heard

  • @tjholowaychukable you probably don't listen to the best of music then my friend.

  • The explosion looks amazing, the only thing to implement from my point of view would be some turbulence displacement...that is what would make it look realistic and I don't think it will an GPU user as this is working in realtime without issues.

  • change music

  • That's fucking awesome

And it's not an animation of particles or some other stupid ass pseudo-explosion this guy is solving the equations of fluid mechanics in real time

  • That's fucking awesome

  • people should just STFU if they don´t even know what navier strokes are ..

i guess this is just a tech test thats why it looks ugly and makes no sense ...

  • im new to expolosions but it looks like you need a little texture.

  • gay music

  • Nice effect, shit music.

  • with explosions you should feel a sense of energy, that being said. This, although impressive on the physics side, it a terrible looking explosion.

  • @MrCaioable you can download it on my website linked in the comment of the video

  • this would be tight for a cartoon game like borderlands or something

  • Where i download this program?

  • this method should never be used for explosion. The particles should rise because they're loosing density because they're really fucking hot, not because they're being pushed up.

  • The water is smoking weed lol

  • @DjTeZac Funny joke

  • fail.

  • the sky is really awesome!!!! =)

  • Lol muted instantly

  • So many fucking idiots here have no idea what they're looking at.

  • why is there a girl crying in the background?

  • dbz abriged fans?

    water: why... did i... explode?!

  • This isn't exactly an explosion. It's more a weird column of goo shooting out of the water for no apparent reason.

  • wat. @below.

  • i download it LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL

    trololololol

  • is that MUSE

  • @YTMize i think ye

  • this vid make me laugh man... this is the most funny fake explosion evar

  • Hate to tell ya but in an explosion smoke come after not at same time fire is where it comes at the same time no explosion good try though

  • Nice try but you need to work with the attributes. Fluids is the correct procedure but it does not look like an explosion. Good try though.

  • omg uggly

  • Dang, I thought you meant 3d as in 3d glasses...

  • I wish these very good graphics videos would also have a short audio commentary. I am trying to learn about Navier-Stokes equations and their application to the ether now called dark matter.

  • @Catloraine Adding, it looks to me like a volcano forming an island such as Iceland. Just learning about Navier-Stokes, it must be applicable to volcanos and tsunamis?

  • I'd be very proud of myself if I'd done this

  • god awful shit music

  • @jpmorgan187 are you fucking kidding? it's Muse, one of the best bands ever, and Shrinking Universe, some of their best tracks. go listen to Papa Roach and 50 Cent.

  • never divide by zero

  • Chuck norris farted T_T

  • Fish Fart

  • sure it would be cool to implement a grid based system into video games but this is far too voxelated and the texture animation based smoke that we see in current games looks pretty damn real.

  • Some ridiculously big and retarded jelly fish looking for revenge. Is that what happens?

  • i guess you think about something like an adaptive grid, which is possible to implement, but it isn'd implemented yet. the grid based fluid simulation which you can see here could be replaced by a SPH Methode to avoid the borders for the simulation.

  • would it be possible to add new 3d grids dynamically if the smoke needs extended space? i mean i could clearly see the cube in which the smoke is catched in. but anyway thats pretty impressive

  • WTF? Is that a geysey that you are trying to simulate ? Very unrealistic!!!!! Where are the ripples in the water with such a significant outburst there should have been wave propagation. What is it ? Think you are more of a multimedia guy than a cfd!

  • @MILOPKM no, he's trying to simulate smoke, the other stuff isn't important.

  • Where are the small scales of turbulence?

  • @MrGreekdog its not supposed to look real its supposed to have real physics.

    so you epic fail -.-

  • For the record, the creator mentioned that this is a Navier-Stokes simulation, meaning it's a computational fluid dynamics simulation, meaning that it wasn't performed to look like a Hollywood explosion. It was performed to study the flow behavior.

  • fire is good.. but the smoke.. too much like a cartoon ..:)

  • This looks like with some tweaking it could be a half-decent thunderstorm 'simulator', if not that accurate at least getting the visuals looking nice.

  • nVidia.

    i am dissapoint.

  • @T3hMarz you are aslo retard.

  • whats up with the paranoid emo gay music

  • it looks like a whipped cream monster exploding from the water.........and the shaders dont match, it looks like it would fit better in a naruto game then this, but it still looks like alot of funt to play with

  • Why did the water explode?

  • @rozgar23 fish collision....

  • @mat5637 lmao!!! when fish collied!!!

  • @rozgar23 becuz it was mad!!!

  • Good question...

  • it looks like someone threw up dude

  • It runs in realtime on the gpu. The gpu is capable to do all the costly computations in parallel, therefor you can achieve a this in real time. I move the camera through the scene with wasd keys and mouse like in an ego-shooter game. Sorry for my bad english^^

  • the materials don't look too great, but the simulation itself is AWESOME!

    Is that realtime?

  • how awesome is this. thanks for the post.

  • Promises in nVidia's promo demos not always match with Real-World applications. That's why we do not see the super duper nVidia technologies cannot have the world domination....

  • Comment removed

  • shit efect= shit grafik cart GTX260 :D

  • lol no effect on pond water? suck man... you need 3 life time to get it right

  • @whotookmynickkokokai

And you have to work on your grammar.

  • @bobbypretzel yeah..i am asian... wtf I care... I can communicate in so many languages...

  • @whotookmynickkokokai

Well it suck man, you need like 4 whole life time to get it right.

Seriously, did you catch the detail about it being real time? That's the impressive aspect. You told the guy his video sucks, I told you your grammar sucks. I fail to see the problem. In any event, take your un-constructive criticism elsewhere.

  • @bobbypretzel I don't see any constructive comments from you either.

  • @whotookmynickkokokai

I told you your grammar needs work, and I heavily implied that I enjoyed the video quite a lot. For the record, that last post by you was much better phrased.

  • paper? link?

  • Not bad, doesn't really show off the power of the card though, maybe add some procedural textures

  • fuck of the bad effects !

    MUSE fuckn ROCKS !

  • doesn't look like an explosion at all =/

  • link?
