@freekicking85 He was pretty much tied to the Palestinians rather then the Russians though he was educated in Moscow, the real agent was Carlos's boss Haddad who ran the PFLP which had links to the European terrorist groups. I think for the most part the Russians tried to keep a very indirect link to terrorist rather then a direct one. But I doubt Carlos had any real ties to the KGB.

@455oldsTARoadHun I don't think Carlos ever converted to Islam, in fact he probably was an atheist considering his Marxist upbringing and the PFLP were Marxist based rather then Islamic based. This might not be correct, but this is my understanding of the matter.
