  • Seen these in Newport South Wales U.K. sometime in the early 80's bought their demo done a stage dive and had my front tooth knocked out butted some geezer while I was flying those were the days eh?D.R.I. NOT D.I.Y.

  • FUCK YEAH D.R.I RULES!

  • Super cool dude.

  • POR que naci en ala epoca de justin biber y hanna mierdana!

ALA VERGA ojala ubiera estado en esa clase de conciertods!

  • Back in the day, these guys, SOD, Ludichrist, Cro Mags, Overkill, they all played dives in NYC. Tickets were cheap. Fights in the Bronx, chicks in Brooklyn, cops in Manhattan, memories in the mind. The shows were in small venues and couldn't ever be duplicated. Never has a scene been so locked in with the music. Argue for the Beats, the Haight or the bi-coastal punk machine or any of today's manufactured crap but you'll never see the of kind visceral passion that made a night like this again.

  • Hey kids..THIS is how it is done....Can ya feel the fekkin passion they put into it? Like it's the last thing they will ever do!! Untouchable!!

DRI DRI DRI DRI DRI DRI DRI

  • when it was still about the music

  • SONG lyrics, old chap; geeesh!

  • Salad days, nueegga! DRI opened for Body Count, Peppermint beach club, where you, speak on it, son.........

  • @Haroldscotclark peppermint beach club in virginia beach?!?!

  • @BringerOfTruth123 Schell yeah, I win, you lose PBC, represent....

  • @Haroldscotclark How the hell do I lose? Don't be a fucking idiot. I asked you a simple question. I have gone to pbc plenty of times in Virginia Beach.

  • better than metallica, anthrax, pantera etc

  • this is CULT !!!!!

  • The 80's were the best man,Back when punks were scary and badass, too bad we'll never get to relive them. Now we have little pussy ass emo and scene kids who claim to be modern punks, fuck them.

  • Thrash = crossover. Also, no such thing as "thrash metal"... that means "crossover punk-metal metal" if you expand it. doesn't make sense really. it's all just speed metal. Thrash is DRI, Cryptic Slaugher, COC, etc.

  • @KSava That's somewhat true. I still consider "thrash metal" to be "thrash/speed metal" because it combines both the punk stylings of "crossover thrash" and "thrashcore". The only difference is that the songs are longer. Similiar shouted vocal style, riffing and similiar beats. I understand the punk/skater kids of the 80's called it "thrash" and the corporate European labels called it "thrash metal". Makes no difference to me. It just kicks ass. That's a good label for it. "Kick fuckin' ass!"

  • @KSava Kinda, thrash has more of the New Wave Of British influence, the heavyness, crossover is thrash but more punk mixed in.

  • SICK THRASHER SHIRT HE HAS!

  • badass

  • Weird I didn't see any boneheads.

  • DRI rules!!

  • Brilliant! But crossover my ass! If Justin Bieber showed up there he'd absolutely get the shit kicked of him - and that's how it should be!

  • @2000jago They're referring to the crossover of metal, punk, thrash etc. Not pop music.

  • This is exactly why they named the album crossover. To unite the Punk Rockers and Thrashers. Punk Rockers were already starting to get into Slayer, Motorhead, and Metallica(back in the day) so D.R.I. , thats when they flipped their sound to the Mutual to get the Metal Heads out to see Bad Religion, Minor Threat, and Final Conflict.

  • I'm glad to live in a time (and area) where Metal and Punk fans are starting to get along like they should. We still have long way to go, let's keep it up!

  • 8 people got dragged down... BENEATH THE WHEEL!!!

  • Wooow! Saludos from Argentina

  • The Minneapolis show in 1989 was insane, they got unplugged during the encore. Than the manager guy was on stage telling us all to get the hell out. They didn't like all the diving, so anyways, when the suit and tie guy was on stage, Spike Cassidy hit him in the back with his guitar, and knocked him off the stage.

  • seen them a few times back in the day awesome got the video as well ha ha the bit when the bouncer starts a fight hardcore

Profiling only shows your ignorance, which reflects upon your country.

    You should be ashamed.

  • @obscurouse go get fucked u cocksucker,u eat shit for a nickel, then get bashed in the mouth for an encore, and if i was there,i`d rape ur arse with a knife! GUTLESS CUNT!

    Anyways hail old school D.R.I.!

  • great footage good old memories 1986 anyone read kurts ''30 day diaria diet plan book''?

  • crossover :( hardcore is way better

  • disagree.

It goes 1st Thrash 2nd Crossover 3rd Hardcore punk.

    All my favortie genre's though

  • @sk8r1369 hell yeah to that

  • what good hardcore bands are there im into thrash and crossover and thinking seeing if i can get into some hardcore

  • @ PinkPantherPun .. that really depends.. if u wanna listen to Old school hardcore.. or New school HxC

  • what is the difference between the two ?

  • About 3 decades with a bunch of sub-genres. If you want to go back to the roots, the best thing is to look at bands that came out of the DC and LA punk scenes and pursue it from there.

Basically try listening to early Black Flag, Bad Brains, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, and The Dead Kennedys (they were a punk band, but 'In God We Trust' is a decidedly more 'hardcore' release).

  • About 3 decades of evolution with a lot of sub-genres carved out of hardcore. If you want to go back to the roots, then you'd have to look at LA and DC punk bands. Hardcore is just an abbreviation of 'hardcore punk' and was just an evolution of the original punk from the late 70s with a focus on being faster/harder.

So I'd say start with Bad Brains, early Black Flag (early singles and Damaged), Minor Threat, the Circle Jerks, and The Dead Kennedys, and D.O.A.

  • ok thanks man i will check it out

  • @PinkPantherPunk Old = good new = bring me the horizon style

  • if you're into thrash I'd say the first suicidal tendencies album is perfect, thats what got me into punk in general from mostly thrash

  • Hi from Portugal...Thrash on!!!

  • Love this video!!!!! Haven't seen DRI in awhile but I remember going to see them a bunch of times in the 80's.

Go check out the videos on youtube by Baltimore's metal/crossover band , VSD, recorded live in1987. VSD--- Phantasmagoria, Instrumental Breakdown, and Kill Your kids. Good, speedy, heavy music you can dance to.

  • I loved those vids by VSD you recommended. That song " Conformity Sucks" was fast and heavy. I just loved the guitar and vocals to " Kill Your Kids".

  • I have seen DRI several times live and agree that they are great live. I also looked at those VSD vids you mentioned and loved them !!!! The songs "Life of Scum" , "Lubrication", and "Conformity sucks" were all super fast hardcore metal. VSD is damn good .

  • "I give a hoot but I still pollute, I don't know what's the matter with me" :-)

This show "at the Ritz" is legendary. I love it.

  • love the sound of spikes guitar , felix's drums and joshes bass with kurts vocals .each one totally sticks out but mesh together perfectly for that distinctive d.r.i. sound. killer stuff

  • seriously this is amazing. It reminds me of why I actually got into punk and crossover music in the first place... It's funny how now the same problems are arising, Punk/Hardcore and Metal kids are clashing...well in Australia thats the case anyway. But it goes to show how fucking ahead of their time DRI were!
