  • sissel has it for her purity of voice ...

katheine jenkins is my idea of an angel.,.,

  • There can be no doubt, Sissel by a wide margin. Thanks for posting this.

  • Sissel is in her own league. She manages almost perfectly to combine resonance from throut and oral cavity, where Anna lays far behind. Sissel gives us loud and clear over-harmonics up to 13th, while Anna strugles already at the 7th. This makes Anna sound unnatural dark and hollow. Anna decays to belting at the high tones while Sissel's power is at the base tone in her whole range, which is easier on the ears. Sissel isn't an angel though. Every woman can sing like her, if they train properly.

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

  • Wow, all beautiful - in looks too but, if I had to choose one, it would be Sissel. She has the voice of an angel.

  • All beautiful, both in appearance and voice but, Sissel stands out.

  • Ear candy from these three great performers. Bravo!

  • No good trying to do the school run in a Ferrari - simply overpowered for the job. Similarly, Anna Netrebko simply overpowers some pieces (O Mio Babbino Caro too). Much more suited to Sissel, a wonderful singer in her own right. Katherine Jenkins's voice is also good here. But when it comes to full blown opera - only the Anna can hack it.

  • It has been eons since I have had my heart torn as it is by her rendition of Pie Jesu. I can not express the emotion she elicits in my soul. There is a touch of the divine.

  • Sissel! I have been in love with her voice since the first time I heard it and she is the one I spend my money on..

  • Sisselllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • SISSEL........... I like the other two but on classical pieces Sissel does it for me. I 've listened to a lot of the classical singers on YouTube and Sissel is my favorite.I don't know

any of the technical issues of music but the sound says it all.

  • I am strict to Opera, so I may be a little biased... I like Sissel, But to me Katherine has to much of a nasal sound in her voice. I'd go with ANNA NETREBKO.

  • 3 excellent voices, but my award goes to Sissel, than Netrebko and third for Jenkins.

Sissel has the most pure and crystal clear voice. Netbreko has a nice opera voice. Jenkins has a good voice but is not enough to overcome Sissel and Netbreko.

  • 2番目の最初はキャサリン・ジェンキンスの声ではありません ハモってる高音がキャサリン。

  • This comparison isn't very fair: Netrebko sings first half of recording, so of course she sounds perfect, Katherine Jenkins sings in the middle of a recording that starts off with a treble (Steffan Hughes?) and you only hear her singing the high voice of the duet (no solo), and Sissel gets a live video with closeup. Ok.

  • Sissel is the most touching and has beautiful and soft sound

  • Three excellent renditions, but Sissel is incomparable.

  • Except for the fact that all three of these women are adults...and thus, have more powerful voices, none sound as lovely to my ear as Jackie Evancho. Just my opinion...but when Jackie's body is fully grown, I believe she will be without peer.

Consider, when listening to her sing this piece, she was 10 years old.

  • Não tem comparação - Melhor Netrebko !

  • sissel...................perfectaaaaaa

  • Sissel has a remarkable voice - sans doute - but next to a few good songs she remains with her folkrepertoire of Nordic songs. Nothing wrong with that but a pity for the aficionado' s of her voice who would like to hear her in a serious performance like the Russian Album of Anna Netrebko.

Anna is for me the nowadays non-plus-ultra. I have all her (not many) performaces and am waiting for the time I can hear her live.

Katherine Jenkins has a good voice but a bad remix, Very bad indeed.

  • Definitely Sissel

  • Katherine Jenkins can put more emotion in to a song than any of the others .

You do not have to be an opera singer to be good .opera singers are lacking on any emotion its all perfection with them.Do not like sissel that much

  • Katherine Jenkins then Sissel then Anna Netrebko, but Katherine wins it for me Xx

  • Like all three. Each has something different to give to the music.

Sarah Brightman should also have been here.

  • Óbvio que é a Anna Netrebko! She is BRAVÍSSIMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lyked 1, 2 and 3 the best to me was1st and 3rd the winner no 3 my opinion

  • Interesting, John, that you picked exactly my three top favorites of classical voiced female singers of the world. I have somewhat of a musical background, perhaps an exceptional one, by some thoughts. Not very well trained, but very well exposed to the best the world has to offer, from tiny childhood on.

  • All three beautiful, all three beautiful voices, But one has all the quality, even of Beautiful Sarah, Sissel by far, but I happen to be in love with all three/four's quality and style. It is Sissel who like most, satisfies my taste for sheer full quality, not withstanding Anna's superb training and discipline. Sissel has that discipline, and more! All three drop dead gorgeous, but Sissel, oh my, Sissel!

  • This specific piece of music? All beautiful voices, but I'd give Sissel the edge followed by Netrebko. Jenkins, again, beautiful voice, but a distant third. Sissel makes the piece HERS (as in 99% of what she sings). I'd love to hear Sissel sing pure opera like Anna. Anna-Opera=heaven. She can also be quite playful as when she sings "Meine Lippen" or "Manon."

  • you forgot to add the original singer - Sarah Brightman (espessially from her "La Lune" concert)

  • Sissel for me personally. Netrebko has incredible voice control for sure - but the style is too traditional for my taste. I also kind of hate how she barely pronounces any of the words - although that sort of goes with that classical soprano style. Jenkins was underwhelming imo.

  • Sissel is the best. but others are good as well

  • I wonder how one can compare amateur singers with soprano netrebko. Jenkins sings like a housewife, sissel seems to be able to hit something near to high C, but this is not enough to be a soprano

  • @gman20101 Listen to Sissel sing "To God Be the Glory," specifically the performance with the Oslo Gospel Singers. Heavenly, and truly demonstrates immense range...even while singly very softly. Midway through the piece she hits an ungodly high note. Her last note, the VERY last note...well, if it were any higher, you'd have to be a dog to hear it, but still clear as a bell and loud. Someone once told me it was a soprano double C#.

  • @123ctx987 Yes, Sissel has performed "To God Be the Glory" many times and she typically ends with a two-octave jump up to a sustained C#6. This is after singing an F6 in the middle of the song. She is one of the most "natural" sopranos I've ever heard ... she reaches the top of the soprano range in an absolutely effortless manner, unlike many "real" opera singers. She also has the clearest pronunciation I've ever heard. for this song: Sissel, Netrebko, (Brightman), Jenkins.

  • @gman20101 Sissel has been recorded hitting an F above soprano C with her characteristically beautiful tone and pronunciation. She sings C#s routinely.

  • Whoever floats your boat !! Sissel floats mine !! No one else comes close, in my opinion ! jagmanchris211.

  • Sissel, any day. Even taking Brigtman into account.

  • Sissel

  • Tie 1. Anna Netrebko and Sissel Kykjebo, 3. Katherine Jenkins.

  • Sissel

  • Netrebko.

  • Sarah Brightman is not there, but she is the best, anyway.

  • @luiza52 The "old" Sarah would beat Jenkins easily. Tthe "newer" Sarah? She sings notes instead of words, and has to stairstep her notes...though he does hit them once she finally gets to the desired landing. Sarah, "old" or "new," can touch neither Anna nor Sissel...not close.
