He was crap on the left wing when Harry was manager, imo he is not a left winger (he is right footed ffs!). I always felt he was better just behind the striker or strikers. He always showed skill but went missing in many games. I always thought he would do better in a better team and at Spurs that has proved to be true. Boateng is the opposite he is a workhorse who looks good in a battling side. I am happy with Boateng and you are happy with Niko so it was a good transfer for all concerned.

@Spentastic fair point, i think he lacked the pace over the first 5 yards and directness to play on the left wing with hreidarrson behind him at portsmouth, however at tottenham, with assou-ekotto behind him, he tends to pull inside a bit and i think he's good at cutting in from the left and always seems to pick out good passes, although i think he's at his creative best playing in a central attacking midfield role.
