Overall I find the HD2 a better phone. I don't see anything wrong with windows and HTC has done a good job on the UI. The good thing about windmo is there are tons of cool applications. Having dup apps is not an issue. Just remove the other if you do. Tons of things can be done on this phone than any other phone. skyfire runs on this phone too! radio streaming most of them runs on win media player can already be played on this phone. possibilities are endless for this hackable phone.

Steve, well presented review, thank you. Can you comment on received audio quality, ether through the speaker or the earpiece? Finally, If you could only choose one phone to take with you what would you choose, iPhone or HDC HD2? !!

Audio quality was 'average' throughout. iPhone 3GS, definitely. And for most people. Though even this is imperfect. What I want is a Nokia N97 with double the flash memory and double the RAM and an 8MP camera and a brighter screen. Not much to ask? 8-)

My issue with the n97 is the keyboard. I'd want a 5-row QWERTY offset keyboard with a spacebar in the middle of the bottom row, at least double spaced. Kind of like a t-mobile sidekick keyboard or an HTC Touch Pro 2 keyboard.

There were rumours about an Android version of an 'HD2', but they have been later denied by HTC... I can't see why they would to that, with their Hero/Magic/Eris platform being, well, OLD.

Its not fair HTC is making amazing phones for WinMO which is not that great atleast for the average user and give android a g1(dream) mytouch3g (magic) and a hero these phones are good im just saying hardware wise the HD2 kills them. android needs a HD2! i guess microsoft is paying these guys a lot.

im thinking of upgrading to the htc hd2 from my nokia n95 heard a lot of good review then other people slating the windows OP, is it really that bad on this phone?? i mainly use camera & internet on my phones the hd2 seemed like a good choice.

This phone is the ultimate on the market, everything in it is appealing, and what extra would an android op do to make this phone any better.

I mean, of course, that he's sharing his server bandwidth. The Phones Show eats up several TERAbytes every MONTH. Really. Apparently he says it's no problem. Shows how big All About Symbian is, I guess, in terms of overall traffic.

I am interested in the broadband situation in UK. In several tv-programs i watch(gadgetshow etc.) they sometimes reviews broadband connections and they seem very expensive and slow to me. I pay about 20dollars/month for a 100mbit down/100mbit up here in Sweden witch are getting almost standard nowadays.

Nokia has disappointed me miserably. They yet have to release a flagship model since n95-8gb which does everything that a tech-geek needs. Nokia is following the philosophy of "keeping some stuff" from even their flagship. For example I would like N97 to have FM transmittor but NO, Nokia wants me to get n97 if I need FM transmitter. Then I also need OLED screen. Nokia wants me to get N86 for OLED screen ... Any non-Nokia phones with physical qwerty that are really competent?
