I've only just heard of Don Ross and Antoine Dufour last night from my neighbour and I fell in love with this song straight away. I was blown away by this song its so beautiful. Very talented men :-)
yeah it's a Fanned Fret model....apparently it handles dropped tunings much better because the lower, thicker strings need a longer scale length while the higher, thinner strings have a shorter one
@therising1 yeah i was trying to imply that as well with the whole shorter scale length for higher strings and the longer scale length with the lower string makes the guitar's overall intonation a lot better. i'd love to get my hands on one too just don't really have a spare $3,000+ dollars haha don't really know where i can try one out either.
That was cool. I think they could perfect it even more. Sometimes , Don's guitar kind of drowned out Antoines, near the beginning.
I think that the last 1/3 of the vid is the best, starting at 4 minutes or so. I have been trying to learn catching the light, I bought the tabs from Antoine's website
Well, they are both amazing, that song was just perfect and stuff.... but that HAS to be the strangest clapping I've ever heard at the end... seriously, WTF?
I now know what this reminds of, I've often thought that Dufour's newest record sounded like rock. If I didn't know better, I would've thought Pink Floyd wrote it. Dufour and Ross really should do a whole record together, it's incredible!!
I can't believe that song could be more beautiful than Dufour by himself. Sometimes i don't like the result of adding instruments to an original solo piece, ie. when Ross and Manring play on Mckee's "Rylynn". But this works, It almost sounds like a synth doing pads in the background. Very tasteful arrangement indeed, ingenius even. Especially the transistion at 3:35.
I made my fist post shortly into video had to make second post.
What a kick ass version of one of my fav newer Antoine songs, sounds great live and Don Ros adds some nice harmony without taking away from the original piece very good. I would sell my left nut to backup Antoine even if we were playing to a crowd of 0 :P
Hey Mike! Thanks for posting this! Nice glimpse into what transpired at the Cannington Guitar Weekend. I wish I could have attended! 5*! Got any more?? :-) -Derek

Don's is a Marc Beneteau Baritone Guitar, using the Fan Fret system that seems to be catching on nowadays.

@pinoixboi They actually help with all tunings supposedly. I'd love to get my hands on one but they are pretty hefty on the price.
