While I love banksy I have to point out that his style is not original, but rather derived from a Parisian graffiti artist from the 80s known as Blek Le Rat, who was famous for his stencil art. Banksy is a fantastic artist and I think he does some of the best work in the stencil medium, but he is not the creator of this kind of art.

Banksy is a stencil artist or street artist, not a graffiti artist. He used to be, however he admitted that he was not very good at it, which is why he needs to use stencils.
