  • yer, partly right, but, the people you call Artists, who initiate Modernism are Bourgeois. All these notions of simplified direct-forms already exist in Peasant Art & historically in Stained glass windows....agressive individualism is the ultimate art 101...re-hashed ad naseum.

  • A clown with a political message :P

Go and learn to draw, takes time, less fame and money but greater internal reward :)

A real revolutionary in art today, would simply paint a decent painting, no one can do that today, we lost the old techniques of painting.

Having said that, surely modern art was a necesary thing, lots of good ideas came from a few minds.

  • No, you're wrong Mrkblogger, even ancient greek sculptors tried to make unrealistic art. Once the sculptor polykleitos made the doryphoros, which was a perfect representation of a human body, the door was open to make unrealistic art, because realistic representation had been done. Sure, people took a while after that to make abstract art, but it was very early on when people decided they didn't want realism.

  • After invention of a camera, people got an excuse to be idiots???

  • Give monkey a brush and it will f.. draw better. God damn idiots, personal expressions my ass, keep ugliness like that on your wall in your house. Common people snap the f.. out of it

  • Dude u helped me write a final assignment for my class......appreciate it man awesome video!!!!

  • OMG,

    Awesome moustache and nice camoflague.

  • then how would you really judge modern art?, there seems to me that alot of really shit artist still get good reviews even thougt they what they make issent really very impresive.

  • @kristian9010 The way it makes you feel, not just how pretty it is.

  • your smock and your painting are the same .where are you lol.

  • you sir are a great expressionist in art as well as speech.

  • Great video for those who want to be 'artists' and don't know to draw one single line... And what about this part - anyone can be an artist? Here I represent my digital modern artwork full of creativity, new visions and freedom! So here it is!!!!!

Like it?! Composition, texture, lines, shapes!!!!.... just outstanding!

Perfect for museum of modern art!

  • @Dzimini that is abstract literature right there! lol

  • @Lottechoco Thank you, Lottechoco! I see you dived into the deepest spheres of my digital conception, caught the pure essence of an idea and developed it in your specific perception. (Example of my modern critic). Yeah, baby, I'm sooo good at this, am I not?! :)

  • @Dzimini you're better than shakespeare and mark twain. They are too concerned with technique and grammar!

  • Your explanations are wonderful in your videos. I was just talking about much of the material on this video, the other day in the Art Appreciation class I teach. I plan to play this video in class tomorrow night as a review. Thanks for your contributions.

  • Like someone below, I also studied art. First, from a modernist who taught me nothing. Then, from a traditionalist, who got me drawing great stuff, and then back to the modernist, who stagnated my progress. Modernists simply don't have the skills so they BS.

Also, you should change "At It's Best" at the end to "At Its Best". Unless you were expressing your feelings of societal rebellion by purposefully using grammar that to stuck-up old people would appear to be "incorrect grammar".

  • "It's (Modern art is) more difficult to do, and the viewer must have more knowledge."

Straight from the mouths of the tailors in "The Emperor's New Clothes". Anyone who doesn't see that modern art is better is just an idiot. You don't want to be an idiot, right? RIGHT?! So viewers, please don't be stupid. You have to appreciate those green blobs. As for the artists, yes, it does take more effort to create a green blob than to produce a scene where viewers know what's going on.

  • teach your mother about modern art!

  • yes...agree 100% - learn how to mix paint and draw!

  • but first is first mr artist!!!!! i went to modern art school four years! you know they dont know sh......! i mean they dont know about color-theory color-mixing, nothing about drawing, but they can talk and talk about ideas they have in their head thats

all!!! intelectual crap indeed! first learn to draw after you can do even greater modern-art work!!!.

  • I'm claiming to be the last of the avant garde painters of the abstract art movement of the 20th century. If you want to be a teacher in the 21st century, let me know.

  • I love the delivery so much; it makes it compelling and amusing. I'd love to see more like this! Maybe on contemprary art? :D

  • Just talk man. the halting, over acting delivery is too annoying to watch. Good info but can`t get thru it.
