Thanks for this lesson, Gilmore is my all time favorite. Can you do a lesson on how to play Comfortably Numb please? We would greatly appreciate it. Rock on.
the first chord is wrong its 024000 then the A chord nd u dnt just strum on the first chord u have to doa certain style of strumming you ring the open low E then strum the rest of the chord
@BobbyCrispy Yes I know all that thanks. You are correct in the chords but I believe the begining of the song is Hit low E then(2nd fret 5th string 4th fret 4th string its strummed up once, listen how it rings out more, then 2nd string on 2nd fret 4th string on 2nd fret>> add pinky listen how it rings out more sounds more accurate to the begining of the song. even though notes sound the same in different places of the fret they are quite different in frequency.
Now I just need to learn the last three songs on Dark Side of the Moon and I got the whole thing down. Thanks again, (for the probably 30th video) Bobby.
how bout all of you shut the f up and enjoy it cuz u know what? hes playing it and it sounds good so as long as it sounds good and u can sing to it then shut ur mouths!
Ok, I am totally misunderstood: I repeat, most of the chords in this video are WRONG.... These are the right chords and the right positions: Verse: Em add9: 024000 (add a D on B string when you have to do :D ) A7: x02020 (add a D on B string when you have to do :D ) Chorus: C7M: 332000 Bm: x24432 F7M: 133210 (use thumb) G6: 355430 (use thumb) D9+(no5): x5456x D9+(no5): x5454x Back to verse...
@ZioArturone ...or you could watch my guitar lesson video called "playing songs the right way vs. the wrong way". i roll my eyes and shake my head every time someone starts going on about playing songs "the right way".
@ZioArturone your dumb! we respect Gilmour but we cant play like him and we dont need that long electric intro..we need the acoustic version like David played it in one of his sessions
@ZioArturone Yes, Gilmore may play it one way but this way is also correct. Besides, acoustic sounds a lot different to an electric with a bunch of pedals being used to create a different sound.
@BobbyCrispy The first chord is E minor add 9. That's a fact--it's "the right way" because David Gilmour wrote it that way. If you don't play that chord then you're not playing "Breathe" by Pink Floyd. And don't think for a second that you've made Gilmour's song more interesting or listenable by refusing his subtleties. Stop trying to pawn your mediocrity off as some sort of noble artistic resistance. It's un-becoming, and it's not working.
@ZioArturone dude as far as i know, e minor to a is actually correct except sometimes a little plucking or what not cuz if u watch the making of the darkside of the moon, (sorry i forget the guitarist for floyds name) he says that he played e minor to a and liked it.
@ZioArturone You are right ....not the right chords...not even close........Bobby didn't look very closely at the chords on the David Gilmour Lesson....a lot of wrong chords....
thanks!!! I started playing 4months ago and have learnt a lot from you(leave a comment on my guitar video its on my channel) thank you and the best part is you teach songs worth learning like from led zep, nirvana, pink floyd, etc thanks
As always, absolutely BRILLIANT Bobby! CANNOT thank you enough! Floyd would be so proud <3 and I agree with @badboy7182, I Want You (She's So Heavy) would be amazing! Much love and music! xx

@BobbyCrispy
The first chord is an Em in the shape of-
5th string 2nd fret
4th string 5th fret
and you strum up, not down...
At least that's what my ears hear and how Gilmour himself plays it on U2B
But I guess you're aiming this at beginners, which maybe it should say!?
(no disrespect : )

Why is your 1st finger pointing into space. There is nothing to play where you are pointing.
avyanez 9 months ago
@avyanez He's not pointing, he's trying to keep the unneeded fingers away from the fretboard so we can see where the fretted fingers are.
