Not technically true, but as such to be nearly zero. Humans breathe out CO2. But if they are vegetarian and eat only food they grow, or buy locally, it IS a closed loop. So is carbon neutral. If they eat animals, that is another story.

@Benelatus99 Well, actually there are bicycles made from bamboo and natural rubber... Besides, it's not about the production, it's about the daily use. Even if you compare the carbon emissions of both bikes and cars including the production of them, you have to agree with me, everybody should get his ass on a bike instead of taking the car while doing groceries in the neighbourhood supermarket.

Ugh, this is so true! Sometimes I can taste the car exhaust while I'm walking around campus. It's truly disgusting, and you know it's bad when you can see the exhaust as puffs of cloud when you exhale, even when it's not cold enough outside to be able to do so.

Walk or ride a bike when you can! I walk everywhere on campus, in all weather, and it's become my favorite form of exercise!
