  • Nice setup man, for the resonator now that it's been 2 years since this vid would you recommend a 2 1/2, 3", or a ??" glasspack? I know it's 2 1/2 in this vid and it sounds awesome btw. I just picked up an 02 6 speed and I wanna get something close to a g35 sound out of it since I know it's the same motor. Thanks in advance

  • Any helpful tips?

  • I just got a 2002 max. Looking for a sound like that!! Nice !!

  • did the piping effect ur gas mileage?

  • wich HKS is this? i diddint know they made dual tip mufflers

  • @BassRacerx

Im not sure of the model? but it def is hks. I know its quite pricey new just for an axle back. I believe around 400

  • is the blue is-f urs?

  • @bendoverslow

    No it was my Neighbors

  • can i please ask what is the resonator and how it can be removed?? thanks man

  • @mikenyesi123

It is the canister between the catalytic converter and the actual muffler. I would go 3" as that is the best bang for the buck tho.

  • @Perkman03 when you say go with 3' what do u mean? like when u take off the resonator u need to install a pipe between the cat and the muffler..

  • wow. awesome sound

  • Hi, i have a noob question. So basically, you took off resonator, and put a 2 1/2 pipe to the hks sports exhaust? And did you do it yourself? I'm interested in mimicking. Thanks.

  • woow this is my favorite sound clip of maxima with exhaust.

you need to black out ur headlights, and clear the blinker while at it

  • Im working on it, more interested in headers than the lights at the moment.

It looks totally different now tho.

  • I doubt it due to the different motor you have the 3.0 I have a 3.5

But hks sounds great on your make I have heard it in person, I honestly love magnaflow on your motor.

  • looks and sounds good bro. how dark is your tint?

  • 5% tint

  • Hey bro, i have an 03' Maxima and i was looking into buying an exhaust. Do you feel any power gains with your current set up?

  • ILL, now I'm looking at 03' maximas lol, it's 500 bucks for that axel back, or atleast on ebay.

What did you pay for it?

  • A super deal of 225

  • Holy shit, well I know who to talk to once I get a maxima lol.

    Thanks dude

  • Yep no problem, get on the Org.

  • dude thats an IS-F right there next to you

  • yep.

  • Quick question...i have a 2000 maxima...do you think this exhaust would fit my car? and about how much did u pay for the system? That sound is just beautiful bro

  • yes.just google hks cat back.

  • Sorry for more questions, but I'm just wondering on the materials needed to finish up the exhaust after the HKS axle back.

Did you use stock diameter for the B-piping? How did you transfer the stock flanges to new piping that you bought? Or did you just weld it all up?

  • it mates right up, but i did get new piping bent from the cat back.

  • What muffler are you running?

  • its says it in the title.

  • Oh, as in it's the muffler that comes with the HKS axle-back?

You just say HKS exhaust and no mid-stream resonator....so you could have a non-HKS muffler...just like the rest of your exhaust system axle forward is also non-HKS.

Best sounding '03 Max I've ever heard. Frankencar comes slightly close, but this is perfect.

  • Ohhh. hey well thanks man!! got ya.

  • No prob.

Did the HKS Axle back bolt up perfectly to the stock flanges on the OEM piping when you first did the install of only the HKS axle back onto the stock "axle-forward" part of your exhaust?

  • Yes bolts right up with no modification.

  • the hks axle back was bought used for 200 and getting the piping bent was like 120. but normally the hks axle back is like 350

  • nice but I prefer to hear the IS F next to you

  • I can get that for ya

  • having NO resignator is not as good as Having a high flow glasspack or something - i have full monza pacesetter exhaust, which is basically stillen y-pipe to NO CAT to HIGHFLOW pacesetter resignator (glasspack) and goes into mandrel bent tubing to my muffler, all 2 1/4 back.. - I've tried NO resignator with 2 1/2, 2 1/4, 3" piping and i've found that 2 1/4 with a high flow resignator sounds better and gives you better gas mileage and performance all and all, but sounds goood man nice max

  • see you have no cat, basically if I did not have a cat I would have installed a hi flow resonator. I am running cattman b pipe basically 2 1/4 pipe.

    Thanks

  • I mean 2 and 1/2 lol

  • nice!! I am going to do that to mine also
