  • Your hands are Huge ! and hook em up soon (:

  • @Rob3rt961 Lol I consider them to be average I guess, could just be the camera. Haha I sold these about 3 weeks after I made this video and that was a year ago, so no chance now to hook them up, sorry...

  • @TypicalB18 Ohh ahha, Andd Ohh :/

  • @Rob3rt961 Yeahh...haha!

  • @TypicalB18 Youu shoulve man haaha

  • @Rob3rt961 Haha Yeah, I really had a plan to hook them up somewhere, then something happened and so I ended up selling them, got a decent profit on them though, but looking back today and thinking about them now there are many other choices that I would prefer over these Comps. Not saying they're bad, just that I'd pick something over it.

  • @TypicalB18 Ohh I got you man hhaa

  • @Rob3rt961 Haha alright man!

  • @TypicalB18 Tahha ! Yeah man Im gettin some Cvrs mabye Or a 15 Cvr Reall soon I want to make My friends Sayy Wtf !? haha

  • @Rob3rt961 Haha cool man, yeah a 15" CVR will hit pretty hard & would probably blow your friends away!

  • @TypicalB18 haha ! Hell yeah bro ! (: I want people from my school to be amazed (;

  • @Rob3rt961 Haha! I don't have anything installed in my car just yet, but hopefully in the future I will!

  • @TypicalB18 Foo shure man ! :o What you think Of getting man ? ahha

  • @Rob3rt961 Haha well I've actually got car audio equipment sitting at home. I've got a Crunch 2 Channel Bridged with a MTX Jackhammer. Then I've got 2 Polk DXis sitting brand new in the box getting ready to be sold. I plan to probably get the MTX in but I'll see.

  • @TypicalB18 Ohh are crunch amps any good Man ? haah Im thinkking Of getin a 1500 amp from crunch (:

  • @Rob3rt961 They seem to be alright, mine is a GPV1100.2. It's rated at 1100 Watts Max/Peak and I have no idea how much RMS it is pushing out. So that's one thing about most Crunch/Maxxsonic low end products is they don't note the RMS. Although it is pushing my MTX quite well which is rated at 250 RMS and 500 Max. So I'm guessing it's rated around there at a 4 Ohm Bridged. I have lots of video posted up on that set up, check it out if you have time.

  • @TypicalB18 Ohh for sure man , thanks (:

  • @Rob3rt961 K, Thanks!!

  • how heavy is the speaker??

  • @409na I personally never weighed it, but on amazon it claims to be 21 pounds could be less without the packaging, but still expect it to be 15+ lbs.

  • he said sony explod wrong its pronounced like explode just so u know.

  • @guitarist5181 Ohh I never knew that. Ever since I've know about Sony Xplods I've always been saying "Ex Pl odd", but I'll be sure to change it to explode just to proper pronounce it. Although in my opinion I feel that it better fits as "Ex Pl odd" rather than explode, but what it is, is what it is. Thanks For Letting me know though!!!

  • @guitarist5181 Xplod*** asshole, moching him cuz he said "explope" better shut up bitch!

  • hi i have 2 kicker comp 12 but i dont know what amplifier use can you tell me which is better ???

  • @notevoyadecircuales Nice, well there's many choices out there and it's a bit hard to really recommend a amplifier without some more info. What is your price range for a new amp? I can help you out further with that info.

  • Fag

  • @Cdubtrucks And why is that?

  • Just comp not competition, decent starter subs tho although kicker is a overrated brand

  • @web101101 Yup!

  • @web101101 yea, totally agreed... a had to CVRs and loved them.... flexed the caddy pretty good but kicker is too overpriced and over rated so no its time for bigger and better things

  • @web101101 I disagree. Kickers are a quality sub. They also make one of the biggest square subwoofers (18 inch l7 model) which comes second to the largest square sub next to MTX audio which manufactures a 24 inch. If my facts are correct..

  • @MontageReflex Well Kicker to me is decent if you can find it at a low price like how I did, otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion. The L7 and MTX Jackhammer are very decent products. Tons of quality and craftsmanship into them, but looking at the prices there are many other brands out there that can match the quality and do better with lower prices. It doesn't mean I dislike Kicker or MTX. I like the companies but I'd just rather prefer something else for the price my opinion

  • @TypicalB18 Oh definitely, totally agree. I just bought a SVC 4ohm 12 inch COMP last night on amazon for 30 bucks brand new. Great deal. (I reccomend amazon for any audio needs) and im excited to hook it up. But I agree, I honestly think some people over do it when it comes to pricing. Some people will disagree with me but you can find a 50 dollar sub that will put out just as much power and sound almost as nice as a 150 dollar sub. Some people can't grasp that.

  • @MontageReflex Yup exactly! For that price it's definitely a good buy and will work great compared to other competitors at the price too! Well can't wait till you hook it up!!

  • @TypicalB18 yeah thanks man. Just out of curiosity. I did some research on this model and the RMS is like 250. I plan on dualing this with a Sony xplod 470 RMS but I have it run off a 800 watt amp. Do you think my 800 watt amp will blow this speaker

    ?

  • @MontageReflex Well usually Kickers are a bit Underrated so a little bit over 250 RMS should be just fine, but putting 470 RMS into your Comp I wouldn't recommend as it is a lot of power, but a bit confused at what you said there. As are you going to Get a Sony Xplod Subwoofer to pair up with the Comp or get a Xplod Amp that's rated at 470 RMS and 800 Max to just run the Kicker itself? Haha got a bit confused there.

  • @TypicalB18 Oh haha, sorry for the lack of details. Currently I have a Sony Xplod 12 inch sub (470 RMS) that I am running bridged with my 800 watt amp. Unfortunately I don't have much access to the information of RMS output my amp has. But as you said, i plan on running both off my 800 watt amp. Of course, with the proper gain settings and such, it should be alright?

  • @MontageReflex Haha No Prob! Well as you don't know what RMS your Amp is pushing out and just showing that it's 800 Watts Max/Peak hooking up the Kicker and Sony they will be both underpowered and to me that really isn't good as you would be way under powering it, not just by like 50 watts or so. So I'd really be careful since it can stress out your Amp and power source if having both subwoofers paired up. You can try but if you have to turn it way up I don't recommend it.

  • @TypicalB18 Well I ran two ten inchers (recommended for my amp) i dont see why it would be too much of a difference.

  • @MontageReflex Hmm well the Sony & Kicker just seem to have a high RMS combined rating that meets the 800 Max Wattage on your amplifier which kinda concerns me. Try and see if they're pushing both of them equally and if they can bump hard or not. Otherwise it's just underpowered a stressing the amp and power source, but try slowly as you don't want to burn out anything. Are the 2 10"s RMS rating close to the Sony & Kicker combined?

  • @TypicalB18 Again, wish i could tell you those specifications. unfortunately I bought those two tens with my 800 watt amp in a package deal for 130 bucks. (I'm a bargain man haha) but i think it was well worth it. I mainly bought the package for a "starter kit" to work off. I know I should upgrade my amp. Unfortunately I'm a teenager and unemployed so I don't exactly have cash rolling in for me haha. But I just want to get the most power out of what I got.

  • @MontageReflex Haha No Prob, I'm pretty much in the same situation as you too. Unemployed and still a teenager! Yeah not a bad deal! But yeah not much I can say other than try it out and see how it goes and be a cautious as possible! Just wondering your Amp and 2" 10s package for $130 are Kenwoods?

  • @TypicalB18 No visonik actually. I bought them back in november before I knew much about car audio. Although I don't regret the decision. They hit pretty hard for the price. Just wondering if you could answer this, but do you think this kicker which has a lower rms will hit harder than my xplod? probably not, right?

  • @MontageReflex Ohh I see, well glad you're satisfied with them! What I believe is that they should be pretty close in sound quality but obviously the Sony can take more and be pushed more to hit harder than the Kicker. Mainly depends on how you set it up and install it. Most equipment set up right can sound cleaner than the other in my opinion. Give it a try single first and see which hits harder!

  • @TypicalB18 Yeah well unfortunately I'm not worried about sound quality too much seeing how I'll dedicate the sub to low pass bass.

  • @MontageReflex Alright man sounds good.

  • @TypicalB18 Hey i did a little more research on the sub. Read some reviews. Turns out this sub is only 150 watts rms (300 peak) but i hear it hits hard for that small wattage. So, i don't think ill be able to pair it with my xplod. If i' satisfied with it i'll sell the xplod (which I love by the way) and purchase another kicker. My only concern is the wattage. If i crank my amp down low and its not distorting, it won't blow out, correct? (my amp is 800 watts keep in mind)

  • @MontageReflex Yeah it's rated at 150 RMS but to me always Kicker is underrated so it can handle more then 150 RMS and 300 Max, but yeah considering your Sony has such a high RMS it's very mixed up and to me and most people don't recommend doing. Well if you crank your amp down I don't think it'll distort it'll only sound quieter and use less power. So it's really up to you. It might be powerful enough or might not.

  • @TypicalB18 yeah they are always under rated incase people over power them. but ill just have to wait and see. Ill let you know when I get it hooked up

  • @MontageReflex Alright man sounds good!

  • @MontageReflex yeah haha... think i blew this bastard today. Hooked it up. Nothing was going swell for me at all tonight. But i had it running bridged (on accident) forgot to switch the terminals. And it wasnt distorting or anything. I mean, it did a little but then i adjusted it. It was hitting probably harder than it should have been but sounded fine. Although i would never by this model again. too weak. But i think its blown. I broke my amp in the making.

  • @MontageReflex Ohh that doesn't seem to good! Is it rattling or just sounds odd in general? So it completely killed your amp, and if it's really blown are you going to return it or perhaps exchange? Yeah feel sorry for you man, hope everything goes for the good!

  • @TypicalB18 Well it stopped working. It didnt blow my amp. My amp broke while i was tuning it. The sub stopped working minutes before. I have yet too hook it up to a friends amp to see if it works. I dont think it iis blown. It functions completely smooth when i press on it. But i will probabl;y end up selling it. Thanks for you hopes. haha

  • @MontageReflex Ohh I see, yeah if it seems pretty smooth it should be completely fine! Haha well either ways good to hear you have plans for it! Haha No Problem! So are planning to buy a new amp?

  • @TypicalB18 yeah haha

  • @MontageReflex Haha Alright man!

  • This guy sounds like a dumbass

  • @ginormatron89 Well it was my early stage of making Youtube videos. I do have to agree with you though video overall isn't good, but I'm slowly improving as I go!

  • soooo would you recommend this???

  • @MrTransAm1979 Well for about the price I got them for which was $40 Each is definitely a good buy, they'll probably sound and last longer than some lower brands, but per say if the price is around $60 or more you've got lots of other choices like Kenwood, RE, Polk Audio, Cerwin Vega and lots more. I'd recommend those brand better in my opinion due to the build quality. Sound quality wise it will depend on you enclose/box, but I have compared these Comps to Polks and the Polk have a more....

  • @MrTransAm1979 solid sound, but that was in their Pre-Made manufacture custom enclosures so that's another factor. So I can't give you an exact answer but if you can find these for $40 or a little bit more they are pretty good for the deal, overall build quality to me is alright, sound quality is pretty loud and you have the Kicker Name! So Yes I recommend these for the price, other than that I would not and most of the time buy other brand like the ones I've mentioned.

  • do you know if these are dual voice coiled

  • @darkangelglue500 I believe these come in a Single Voice Coil & Dual Voice Coil Version. When searching them up look or type in Kicker Comp 12C124 and either include DVC or SVC and some retail stores will already note then but some won't. I am sure though I have seen these come in DVC version. So search for them I guarantee you'll find them!

  • i just ordered these on amazon for like 50 each i think. i got 2 of them at 150rms each and i got a amp that has 340 rms so ill be over powering them a little but i think itll be fine. also does anyone here kno if they hit the low notes good? cuz thats why im buying them right now i have 2 12inch typhoon subs. (there really old i got them for free lol) but they dont hit the low notes well and im hoping that these will hit the low notes good and if not im just gunna return them. plz let me kno

  • @latdum Nice! I'm pretty sure you'll be running them just fine as usually Kickers are underrated so it's usually more than 150 RMS Each. Personally I don't find Kicker Comps to hit low notes as well as Polk Audio DBs from what I have tried since Polks give a more solid and cleaner bass in my opinion. So it's a okay buy but from my perspective as I say they don't hit lows as well as some others. You can buy them and try for yourself as they might satisfy you, since it's a different set up.

  • should i get two of these or two

    Kenwood KFC-W3013PS

  • @isaiahpowell97 I'd personally get the Kenwood KFC-W3013PS. I feel like they're more well built and have a much nicer look to them, can't give you a exact sound quality/comparison between the Kenwoods and Kickers though. I also had a pair of the exact Kenwoods except in 10s which I never installed.

  • i got these brand new for 100 bucks at buest buy buy, bogo

  • @familycomediesinc Haha yeah I've been seeing them offer that for a while now either Bogo or %50 off which is technically still the same. I got these for $40 Each at Frys brand new but seems like they never offer that price again. Anyways you got yourself a alright deal ang hope you enjoy them!

  • Yeah i have these subs, the wattage is hella under rated, im pushin mine with a 1000 watt Kenwood amp, shits knockin loud......too loud, i keep blowing my fuse on my amp

  • @Nayr907 Haha yes they are, Is your Kenwood amp pushing 1000 RMS or Max, cause if RMS these subs would've been blown within a couple seconds at high volume! Must be something wrong with a connection or something if you fuse keeps blowing out, or yeah maybe just too loud hahaha!

  • My friend sold me 2 of these for 100 bucks, box and all. He had a Planet Audio 1500watt (peak) mono amp pushin' them, wired at 2ohms, but the box doesn't do them justice. Just a baby step to get me up to my AA's that I plan to get. Figured buy these, save up, sell these for the difference, and go from there. Also got a set of Fosgate HE series 12's for 30 total in a homebrew box. But they're both beter than my Q-Power 12.

  • @DWRhythm Nice, yeah these are a good start gosh I don't even know when I'd even get close to getting some AA's, as for now they only stay in my dreams lol. Yeah keep them in good shape with everything and you won't lose much! Yeah those HE 12's are nice too was interested in getting one but then kinda got into something else. Hmm haven't really heard the Q-Powers before, but looks like you got a good plan going on!!! Nice vids/channel bro keep it up!!

  • @TypicalB18 Thanks! You can see a small demo of my Q-Power on my channel. It's being pushed by a 250 watt xplod Xm-5022. I need to make a video of the HE's and the kickers All I got is this one amp, but it bangs, for some surprising reason...

  • @DWRhythm Yeah I checked it out. It looks pretty good & seems to slap pretty hard! Yeah I'd love to see those HEs playing! That Xplod seems to be doing a good job!! I've been looking at this Sony Amp for sometime now and at the store while testing it out it worked beautifully powering any subwoofer. I just can't see why some people just seem to underestimate Sony Car products. I guess they aren't the best but not the worst is what to say.

  • @TypicalB18 It goes both ways. Sony's car audio line is not bad, if you know how to use it. Alot of the rookie car audio people diss them, ecause they don't properly set them up. (EG: 2 ohms on a 4-ohm channel) Alot of pro car audio people would "diss" them because they use higher grade products, and once you use those, you're kind of set on them. Sony is CEA compliant. For budget amps, I'd use them.

  • @DWRhythm Ahh I see yeah I guess that's true!! I still wouldn't mind them though and I don't consider myself to be even a rookie car audio person as I never really had anything installed. I usually get the and plans go off and something happens haha. Trying to work my way up there though!! Yeah well I hope maybe they can maybe try to make better or new products in that department but I guess most likely not as they aren't making as much money as their other products.

  • @DWRhythm lol same shit happen to me, my friend sold me these subs with box but no amp for 100 bucks

  • @Nayr907 Haha Nice!

  • Oh yeah... one last thing.

in the title, it's actually the new 2010 kicker comp, not 2009.

that is why the model of this subwoofer is 10c124, the 10 at the beginning is from the 10 in 2010.

and if you check the 2007 model, it is called 07c124.

    just a heads up =)

  • @Dawgkid133 Ohh haha Thanks For the Heads Up! I'll change it right away!

  • do u like them

  • @warmaster5128 Haha to be honest I never installed them, so can't say much about that... I'd prefer other brands though or other Kickers as the Comps don't really surprise me in any way.

  • These are beast!!!

I have one of these in a 2.15 cu ft ported box at about 33 hz

on a 350 watt mono amp in my room.

Shaking everything up. Gr8 for Dubstep music. XD

  • @Dawgkid133 Haha Nice! I never really set them up other than demoing them at the store lol. Yeah I'm getting to love Dubstep now better then most things I hear today!

  • @TypicalB18

    Hey

im gettin a new amp for them, lookin to get a Crunch 500.2 which is 250 watts rms at 4 homs bridged and 500 peak.

that'll push my comp really hard.

not going to play it more than 5 minutes at full power, or my neighbors will hate me XD

do you think i should go for it?

  • @Dawgkid133 Hey, Yeah man if you got a good deal on that Amp it'll push the Comps just fine! It's not the greatest amp but it gets the job done!! I don't actually have much recommendations on which amps but Crunch seems to be somewhat decent and I wouldn't mind buying one myself if the price was right! Haha yeah I haven't bothered my neighbors with anything yet or at least I think I haven't lol!!

  • @TypicalB18

    HaHaHa

yeah i go a good deal for about 50 dollars at frys[dot]com

    they carry them now

and by the way, thanks for everything bro

i was a bit skeptical of buying the kicker comp, because there weren't many videos of them at the time.

when i came across your video, i knew these were perfect for me. gr8 review.

and thanks for helping me all the way here

  • @Dawgkid133 Haha Fry's is the way to go!! Well at least 3/4 of the time lol! Haha Well I'm glad it helped you!! Thanks for commenting & watching!

  • just picked up to yesterday, buy one get one free, and they came with Kicker EB101 headphones for free, i only paid $110

$260 if you bought all seperate

  • @meow85 Nice, I saw that deal and it's a pretty good deal. I sold my pair a while after I made this video. I bought some new Kenwoods though which I'll have a video up soon.

  • @meow85 amazon 41 a piece

  • @83PoWeRrAm Pretty much what I got them for at Fry's. I guess about $43 after tax. It was actually limit one but separate payments so got 2.

  • so they can only handle 300 watts each????

  • @tdadork That is what Kicker claims but most of the time Kicker rates their stuff pretty low. So honestly I wouldn't exactly know what they can really take possibly the Peak could be the RMS but I think I would just max it out at 300 each just to be safe.

  • @TypicalB18 i have the same ones. lol

  • @xXbmffxx Haha nice. I see you got some Xpolds too I was about to get some instead of these Comps but they sold out and stopped carrying them. I actually wanted to get them since a lot of people talk smack about Sony and show what they can do if set up right, but I sold these Comps within a week and bought some Polks and ended up selling them too and now I'm just sticking with stock which is good enough already.

  • @TypicalB18 yeah man, the sonys are good.

  • fucking faggot

  • @xXbmffxx And why is that?

  • stickers probably go on car idk just a guess

  • @Wright713 Yeah, maybe on the enclosure or anywhere flat too.

  • @TypicalB18 no shit

  • @TypicalB18 really didnt know u could put them there , everyone could see the sticker while its in your car

  • @Wright713 Haha yeah. Now that I read back my comment it's pretty retarded.

  • @TypicalB18 hahah yeah not to be mean but yeah it was kinda retarded

  • @Wright713 Haha no offense taken. Some days I'm just really tired and just don't seem to think straight, guess that day was one of those days.

  • get some 12 inch CVRs or CVX if you have a larger budget.. you wont be disapointed trust me... lol trade these in for the CVRs though they pound way harder get 2 2ohm CVRs and parallel them to 1 ohm on a 2000 watt 1 ohm stable amp they pound

  • @randumbguy8239 I'll have to see. As for right now car audio is in and out for me. Mostly focusing on home audio right now, but if I get the chance I'll give them a try. Thanks!

  • THESE SUBS ARE FOR NOOBS YOU WHITE FAG

  • @rspboy1 Yeah they are considering how cheap they are, but having some bass is better than having no bass, and second I'm not white I'm Chinese & I'm not a Fag.

  • @TypicalB18 Okay, true some baby bass is better than none. Also, I'll buy that your Chinese, but I know for a fact that you're a homo who eats dog penis.

  • @rspboy1 I honestly don't know what to say. I feel like I'm talking to a 5 year old kid here.

  • @TypicalB18 A five year old kid that screwed your mom and made her scream 150 db. 好肥屁股

  • @rspboy1 Are you even sure you've heard 150 decibels in person yet?

  • @TypicalB18 Okay, you got me. It wasn't your mother...it was actually your grandmother. She just laid there and took it. Like the filthy Chinese whore she is.

  • @rspboy1 Haha you're a funny guy. Well you can talk all you want about doing old people and I honestly don't really care everybody has their things, but that ain't one of mine. If you plan to talk about audio let me know. Otherwise fuck off.

  • @TypicalB18 Your grandma thinks I'm funny too :) . btw I know doing women isn't your thing, you prefer the wiener like your grandma.

  • @rspboy1 Sorry but you're just wasting my time. Blocked!

  • This subs are trash.....

  • @soledadsurenos Yeah you could say that since they are made in China and so are a lot of things. My teacher told me to get the really old Kickers when I told him I bought these. All I'm looking now are are FI, DD & a couple others that aren't mass produced.

  • Do you think these are better than Rockford Fosgate P1s??..

  • @SoToxsiK Well I have never heard P1s or any Rockford Fosgate subs in person. I hear they are very good though. I have seen some P1s when they seem to crack towards the middle but I am not sure of that. I'm sorry but I don't know since I haven't tried them yet.

  • Everyone now a days has these. I have the older one but is still in good condition. I bought the 2007 CVR 12 dual 2 ohm sub.

  • @kskate91 Nice! My teacher told me to get the old Comps when I bought these, but it didn't really matter to me.

  • Get 3 tho lol

  • @luvbass18 Haha we'll see.

  • I got the same subs they hit like a muther fucker haha

  • @luvbass18 Nice!

  • im having the same senario as @BassGuy1129 is.i just bought 2 12" kicker subs.some people say hooking it up to my home system will blow it up.my plan is to hook the subs up to my powered subwoofer that plugs into the wall and has a built in amp.would this work?if anyone has done this can you email me pictures or something? acmusicprod@aol.com thanks for anyone who can help!

  • @ACMusicPr0ductions Well people have done that before and I had it in mind at one time, but I asked my teacher he said that you would have to fiddle around with it to get it set up right. Like for instance the impedance is different so you would have to adjust the amp for that sub, but I'm pretty sure it would work right away as you plug it in without doing anything to it. It might just damage some components though.

  • @TypicalB18 what components would it damage?

  • @ACMusicPr0ductions Well it could damage the Amp from your powered subwoofer. Or damage your Stereo Amp or Receiver. Best is just to have everything matched up something around the range of a regular home subwoofer. These Kickers are usually underrated so they'll take or require much more power.

  • Ya there great cheap subs and sound great.. I'm trying to get a custom ported box for all three for my camaro.. But that won't be for a while

  • @repthe520h Cool can't wait to see the video. It's probably going to be sometime for me to get another pair of subs or car audio into my car.

  • Beautiful subs bro.. I just got three of these and there great subs

  • @repthe520h Thanks. Cool I saw your videos they're pretty cool. I would make a video too. but I had sold them since I had other plans in mind so I never even got to hear them. I had heard the floor models at store though before I bought them.

  • Nice!

  • @red2chfd Thanks!

  • Im going to be hooking one up to a 1000 watt home theater system and the subwoofer channel is 250 watts, do you think that it will be enough to push out some good bass?

  • @BassGuy1129 I think it would be good enough. Is the 250 watts RMS and how many OHMs is it pushing out?

  • @TypicalB18 i think it is rms, and 6 ohms, the home theater is still on order

  • @BassGuy1129 It should work fine. Best is to turn it up slowly to hear if something doesn't sound right, when you get it.

  • stickers!!!!!!!!! i love stickers!

  • I mean im just replacing the 8" sony surround sub with a kicker that has specs that are a bit over the sony sub ones.

  • @MaxVolumeify hmm alright well I see you have a all in one Home Theater system. I'm unsure if it has enough power to fire it up. You would need much thicker wire than the regular one they came with that's for sure. I wouldn't really recommend using that to power this up since it isn't a amp with a big power block & it could fry it easily. You could still try but I am unsure about the results.

  • Ey bro i have an 850watt sony surround sound system, do you think they'll be able to drive em?

  • @MaxVolumeify It could power them up but you would have to be pretty careful not to turn it up too high and it would burn or damage you Amp. I tried this one through a Vintage Integrated Amp and it powered up fine but there is voice going through it. Also listen if anything is starting to sound or smell weird.
