I made thiss last night but also added a (chopped) head of caulifower so I doubled the recipe. Warning! Go ahead and double everything except the salt! When I tried it this morning, it was way to salty. Plus, it really hasn't had time to "pickle" so there's not much vinegary taste. I've made kimchi before so I think a few more days in the fridge will produce the desire results. I'd reccomend adding garlic cloves, pepper flakes, pepper corns, or even some Sriracha hot sauce. But I like it spicy.
Hey Maangchi ^^ I have a request. I'm pretty much addicted to anything pickled xD So I was wondering if you could do a Korean version of pickled onions? My favorite pickled veggie <3 Thanks ^^
@Maangchi was that in NY city? I wish we had a huge park like this, when I get to heaven I will be soo happy to have a park like that to roam in. Awe I can't do this it is to hard I wish I could cook like this for my 3 year old...
I really love watching your videos. Broccoli is one of the few vegtables that I enjoy eating. I would like to know how to make a light brown sauce that I could cook with or put on plain Broccoli but I cant seem to duplicate the flavor or consistancy that you find at most Asian restraunts. I know this is simple for most but can you help me? Trying to eat more veggies but want a bit of flavor added. Thanks
I remember asking you about pickled broccoli because my local Korean restaurant has it and you said you didn't know, glad that you have a recipe now. For an extra flavor component toss them with a dash of sesame oil when you're ready to serve or eat them.
@Maangchi thanks for answering. I made it as the way u show and it's really good. I finished eating it after 2 weeks though i asked u how long will it last. lolz.. I've to made it again. :P
This is a great recipe. I did one using cauliflower and broccoli but Thai style. I will try yours next time it is much easier plus now I know how to keep the broccoli looking bright green. Thank You!!

hello i love your videos ive have tried to cook a lot of the foods you cook it is a bit hard to get hold of some of the thing you use but i got them and the food is really nice also in every video the songs in the back ground are amazing lol
I want to say you should have your own Food Network show, but then the raw wonder of your amazing show would be compromised. So never sell out. Keep making your shows in your kitchen with the camcorder and the random, great background music. And your food is great!!
I am trying to eat vegetarian, and your show is great! I spend lots of money on pickels and due to your show it doesnt look hard to make. i will have to try that.
Hi Maangchi, you are an amazing cook..... i like your videos, easy to follow... And you are looking good, cute and very elegant... Thanks for the videos, i love Korean food. ...Cheers.
They sell a tiny jar of pickled cauliflower and carrots at the grocery store and it's so expensive. This looks like the same thing....only with broccoli. What other veggies do you pickle? I can't wait to make this :)
Thanks to you, my nickname with my friends (for bringing food like this to school and sharing with friends, listening to more asian music than they do, etc.) is F.O.B.
You Koreans sure love pickled stuff, lol. I can't wait till it's getting winter again and the Chinese cabbage gets cheaper so I can make kimchi once more! :D
Hello Maangchi, firstly i love that background song from Blondie and when Kim Ah Joong hit that high note (미녀는 괴로워 ! Broccoli and Kale stems are the best parts. It's more expensive then the florets. Thank you for the recipe, will have to make some in my next marketing :-)

Hi Maangchi :) thank you for the recipe. i love to have vegies ready to eat in my fridge. but I'm just wondering if it's healthy to consume this pickle as a side dish everyday (considering the amount of salt and sugar in it)? I'll be looking forward to your reply and your upcoming great recipes.
Thank you very much for posting this video. You are brilliant!
My mom used to make me this kind of lunch boxes as I was growing up, and I love it! I started making one for my mom, older siter and myself when I started high school. I will ask my mom to make one for me when I get a chance to go home in the future. :)
It's too late for me. I wish my mommy made lunches like that for me in 1963. I only had peanut butter and jam...but I loved it...and so did my seven brothers and sisters.
