I was there the day that he crashed. You might actually be able to see me in this video. I was watching right near the thunderbirds. I just searched for this video and I can remember that day clearly. This air show is always awesome, it was sad that Jim Leroy crashed.
My brother lives in Xenia and we live in Iowa and he got us tickets to go to the airshow with him and his company. they had one of those tents along the air strip and i remember the crash. It was a very very sad moment.

I agree to a point. But car accidents in general have a much higher survival rate. You crash in a plane, and your chances drop to nil.
