  • I'm all for discussing facts, but this presentation cherrypicks the facts to support a specific ideological position. Why doesn't he mention that the US rates as one of the lowest countries when it comes to infant mortality rate? So, our health system is good in some ways & bad in other ways. Why does he ignore that polls show most Americans & most doctors support public option? Why doesn't he mention that a tiny fraction of a percentage of our military spending could pay for public healthcare?

  • MarmaladeINFP, the fact that military spending is too high doesn't justify more spending on other things.

And since when has Government involvement improved anything?

The healthcare systems all around the world need less Government involvement, not more.

See this video from John Stossel for more:

  • Infant mortality rate is a poor indicator because everyone measures it differently. I can't recall the exact differences at the moment but, for an example, in the US infant mortality might mean up until the child is 12 months old. While in England it may mean 6 months. In Cuba any pregnancies with a risk of the complications are terminated to maintain Cuba's excellent infant mortality rating.

  • If you listened he also mentioned death rates as being a crude metric.

  • Glad I subscibed to this channel, although long winded ,these are FACTS that have to get out there. I can, absolutely, verify the points about western Europe, specifically the N.H.S. Britain. They are points I have been arguing for years, having direct involvement in the chaotic state of our "health care" WE , MR Michael Moore are NO model for any healthcare system

  • Wow! When factoring out deaths related to car accidents and murder, the United States jumps from 42nd to #1 in life expectancy.

  • @CaliforniaArchitect Yes #1 we have the best care. If our leaders would tell the Nation the truth like this gentleman, we could really get a medical system that works better. Government control is NOT the answer.
