  • 6 Years Of Work

    For 60 Sec. Of Enjoyment

    Absolutely Worth It

  • good and super hight jump

  • Holly Molly.

  • Not much air to chew on up there!

  • completely whacked.

  • I'm gonna climb to the top with a ladder, just to beat your record.

  • looks rather chilly :)

  • LOOL All the way across the valley.Wooow!

  • Just wow humans can fly :)

  • If that's not one of the most amazing natural phenomena I've ever seen, I don't know what is. Look at that thing. Gorgeous.

And what a jump! That takes some serious guts - that's beyond impressive.

Thanks for the vid. Pretty intense!

  • 6 years of work? that must have been a helluva slow climb up the mountain...

  • its a insane jump but a realy bad vid. saw almost nothing of the fly :(

  • I think the Baseclimb team are holding onto the rights of the film from the actual freefall..?

  • F%§"ING tal!!!

    impossible!!!! :D :D:D

  • i cannot imagine what it would be like to take the first step off the ledge. that would freak me out! total 100% commitment after the first step

  • took a while b4 he started to tract....no oxygen to fly on

  • amazing

  • God must be shaking His head.....LOL. You guys ROCK! I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to squeeze in some more jumps this week.

  • "Wow look at them go across the valley..."

    Look at each other...

Ok time to walk down now.. LMAO

  • VERY GOOD!!!

  • My heart was pounding watching this.

I'm far from an expert in wing suit jumps, but I can't help but wonder whether the fairly high altitude affected the wing-suit glide performance? I ask becuase around 1:16, it looks like the jumper attempted to flair into a flatter glide angle, but then abandoned it for more speed before flairing into a glide configuration.

    Any thoughts.

  • I don't know much about wing-suiting being more of an old-school climber/mountaineer myself, but I think the thinner air at altitude would almost cetainly have hampered the intitial moments of their flight...don't know enough about the technicalities of flying in free-fall!

  • This is amazing!

  • give meh thumbs up!

  • Pretty amazing! but i think this one is higher

    watch?v=w6g4PouQeoc

  • The Great Trango face is not as high a drop, being the second highest basejump in the world. I could give you some further details, but perhaps you should do a little research...

  • its on my to do list

  • I would love to climb this Peak and jump down like you. Just amazing!!!

  • lol the music at the end killed it for me

  • Say what you want, they DO look ridiculous.

  • wow

  • really high, but not exactly the most exciting flying suit video. Do you have more?

  • Yeah sorry mate, but I just pulled it from the Baseclimb webiste to be the first to post the record on Youtube :oP

    early wingsuit prototypes I believe?

I think there's more footage available of their free-fall, but you'd have to search elsewhere, and though I know there's an old style VHS video about of this exploit, I'm not sure if it's available on a DVD/digital format?

Afraid I'm mostly too lazy to trawl+post any similar or better ones..? :o)

  • I wanna do that :O!!

  • this is why I wear baggy clothes, never knew when the bad guys are gonna chase you off a cliff...

  • The air, that high, is very thin and it takes a while until they can actually control their selves in the free fall. Exciting!

  • That is truelly incredible.

  • wonderful

  • If I remember correctly this man's wife had never done any kind of jump AT ALL until about a year before this film was made, and she was hospitalised with a ruptured colon during her training ..... what a gal huh ? The movie was shown around the UK sponsored by Nissan i think.

  • Brass balls!

  • flying squirrels!!!!

    XD!

  • amazing jump, but shame they didn't put more effort into making a good vid record :-(

  • amazing.

  • nooo way!

did you see the look of the guys at the top of the mountain!

    that was siiiick!

  • Wow nice Video They looked like giant flying fox :P

  • do you have to have insane abdominal strength to do skydive?

  • Hardly!? Odd question? AFAIK anyone can do both skydiving +basejumping, but only those with sufficient nerve :oP

  • Dunno, but wing suits? Base isn't the same since they came in to the picture...

  • wow this is realy great :D Sick i want to do it tooo:P

  • Aw man think about right befor u jump ur probly like holey shit is higher than i thought!

  • That looks pretty high

  • this man lives his life not me. good job

  • lol amazing jump, but wtf was up with the execute, coulda done better with them wingsuits.

  • Think the thin-air at altitude and the early prototype wing-suits would have hampered them more than usual, especially compared to what's available nowadays..?

  • Awsome... If I had a chance to try this kind of sport, I would do it!

  • that song ruined a perfectly good science fiction show and has now ruined a perfectly good base jump video.

  • LoL I know what you mean (re Star-Trek), but it could have been worse; at least their choice of music is only a 'little' "corny"?

  • HOLY GOOD JESUS

  • their camp voices and the cheese music!! good video

  • lol how come there's not many comments?

  • wow!

  • Oh wow when I saw them dropping at that speed I thought something must have gone wrong it was like they were plummeting at scary speeds.

Talk about balls.. damn thats crazy.

  • I'm sure it was great however this video sucks because you hardly get to see anything. :(

  • I just pulled it from the Baseclimb site and posted it as is...

  • WOW.

  • awesome jump, but what about the ppl left on the mountain? they have to walk back down lawl?

  • yup - it took another 36 hours to descend the route back to basecamp / clean the hill of fixed lines and wander out around the glaciers back to the landing camp area ...

  • It took us another 36 hours to descend the hill retrieving all our fixed lines / camps etc and get around to the landing camp on the eastern side of the mountain below Mt Shivling.

After I left basecamp I spent 21 days on the hill without comming down - Glenn and Heather descended a couple of times to rest.

I personally lost 14 KG on this expdition

  • Cool to hear a perspective of someone involved; I hear the weather and snow conditions were horrendous that season?

  • well usually us mountaineers do that anyway heh.. this is the FUN way.. and believe it or not its safer that walking off :)

  • maybe the helicopter gets them again

  • They had to descend the mountain in the usual fashion; not many helicopters can go that high in the thin air...

  • Read all about it from the suggested websites in the description...

  • lol it would suck if u got to the top of the mountain and u forgot your parachute

  • Breathe taking....literally. Thats so beast.

  • Singleman and wife?

  • Mmm the landscape is not so great (there's just rock & snow), we don't see much of the jump although it's supposed to last longer, and they seem very unstable in the air and not enjoying it.

Yeah OK it's high but so what? The video is kinda crap!

Look at the jumps you can make in Norway, much better!

  • Just putting it out there... that is Meru Peak, not Mount Meru at all. There should be no (Mount Meru) in the info. Mount Meru is in TANZANIA. Meru Peak is in THE HIMALAYAS. They are very different places.

  • I don't see any 'Mount Meru' in the info; did I correct this mistake earlier..?

  • I laughed so hard when the music came on xD

  • brilliant !!

whats that song called btw ?

  • Where can we see the footage from the helmet cams? Or didn't I look hard enough on YT?

  • THEY ROCK! GOOD JOB!

  • whyieeee!!

  • thats sick! Awesome! cant wait to base jump.. :P

  • lol, there is not enough air to keep them gliding at the start, so they are just falling. awesome video 5 stars

  • holy shit this seems like something from a movie when they first jump

  • 1700 m Wow!! that's oven a Mile!! (1600m)

  • Pretty un-believable isnt it; though I'm not sure how much of that height is actual vertical cliff, and what's mountainside +talus (detritus slope at base of main cliff), so I personally couldn't tell you all the detail. Perhaps u cld ask the poster above who was on the expedition..?

  • fucking champions!!! wow thats inspirational. are they Aussies?

  • Man, they really are addicted to adrenaline

  • It is even hard to breath at that altitude...listen to their voices while talking! Incredible jump.

  • awesomely awesome

  • wow daring...

    thanks.

  • it takes some guts to do that jump,i would love to do that,it is somethink you have to do atleast once in you're lifetime

  • damn!!

  • uau that woman has balls!

  • sweet

  • coool cllouds

  • holy crap thats amazing.

  • INSANE

  • i wouldnt have the balls to climb that face and their fuckin jumpin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant wait this will be me hopefully one day

  • OMG the last one to leave the peak almost flip over. Nice job!

  • "Weeeee"

  • Take off sucked but still a rush. With a wing suit you should be ale to start cruising within the first 3 to 5 seconds of free fall.

  • :) bella

  • incredibile :D

  • So ...brrrrr....cooooooooooooold.

  • espetacular

  • ona paloma blanca, this is awsome.

  • Wow huge wings on those suits! What was the exit elevation?

  • Around 6600m as I think i posted in the description..?

  • that is sick

  • 5^!

  • OMG!Only in NEPAL! :D

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooow!

  • looks slightly dangerous..!

  • That was amazing

  • Wonderful timing getting that Fincorp sponsorship :-)

  • it took them something like 25 days to hike up to the top of that mountain.. dayam! dedication..

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • this is my dad

  • Wow

  • insane!

  • WoW! Thanks for the motivation.
