  • В конце ролика надо было и объектив об пол!!! Представляю,в каком состоянии у него вся техника!!!

  • Love the 1st 6 seconds...haha

  • Love the start to this video

  • hello, i have a question. on my 50mm 1.4 i am noticing a "chalk" sounding noise when I manually move the focus ring (when the lens is on the camera body and when its off as well). is the focus ring suppose to be silent when moving the focus ring? thanks

  • @blueeyevisualize That's weird. Maybe yours has sand in it. I think mine is pretty silent.

  • @JerryRSun The lens is brand new and has had that sound since I got it. I haven't even used it and it makes that sound. It's not so much as a "sand" sound but like when you lightly sharpen a pencil in a pencil sharpener.

  • @blueeyevisualize na mine does the same. only got mine 2 days ago

  • @blueeyevisualize Thats normal, sounds liek this one right? youtube.com/watch?v=RWxNyWfPozQ

  • LMFAO. I love the start. It's like, "GET OUTTA MY WAY! MY 1.4 IS HERE!"

  • I like the beginning of the video :D

  • thanks bro, gona try in shops and leave a note here soon, thanks for the info and review and appreciate it ;)

  • maybe an wild question, but has this lens USM? sometimes they say yes, sometimes no. now i want the real answer.

  • Yes, this lens is USM.

  • it has usm, but since this lens was made way back in the introduction of eos (1987), it has an old usm system where the lens elements move (but does't rotate).

  • what camera u put that on?

  • Canon T1i.

  • hey man..im thinking of buying this lens but i want to know..how much better is it than the 50mm f1.8???

  • I've never used the f1.8, but 1.4 is I believe 2/3 of a stop faster. That probably means the quality will be better at the same f-stops. Some people like the f1.8 for its lightness, because it's a physically smaller lens.

  • 99 dollar lens vs 400 dollar lens -.- of course 1.4 is better lol

  • I have shot with both. The 1.8 makes me nervous. It has a plastic mount and feels cheap. Get the 1.4 much better lens.

  • i love the start when you whipe the unneeded-previous-lens-box :) , i bought it today and waiting for it now

  • That video was amazing. Thank you.

  • You are very welcome.

  • excellent f*cking start geezer! btw, is this lens any good? I'm comparing 4 of them right now. 1st choice: EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. and others reviewing are: Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 USM L, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM and Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 USM L which one which one?

  • Sorry, but I probably can't help your decision because I had a hard enough time deciding on this one. I can tell you that it is very nice. But the faster the lens, the harder it becomes to focus at the widest aperture, and the bigger the lens. Hope that helps. :P

  • @JerryRSun erm.. yeaJRS, I suppose, i'm ONLY a beginnier and got the 500D same as you (except that the boxing is different from USA and Asia)! anyway, been playing for 6months with the 18-55mm IS kit lens. wana change a lil' something different. might get this one EF 50mm f/1.4 USM with maybe 55-250mm IS and another wide angle or something.. not sure :( quality good on urs? I usually use TV mode on the 500D, thanks bro ;D

  • The quality is great. You won't be disappointed.

  • @JerryRSun bro, it seems like u've persuaded me to get this init? 'IF' and ONLY 'IF' i cant find a cheap 2nd hand on the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 USM L or Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 USM L, i go for this one EF 50mm f/1.4 USM (BRAND NEW). I saw another video about the bokeh test on this EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, which seems quite nice. Leme try it out in shops first and leave a msg here soon ;D cheers bro!

  • @JerryRSun one more thing bro, is the Micro USM FAST? I'm gona grab a h00d that goes with this too if so :)

  • I always research stuff before I buy it. In this case, I read tons of lens reviews. I had almost decided on a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 that was only 200 bucks or something cheap like that. Turns out there was a huge quality difference. The in-depth lens reviews are boring, but worth the read.

  • @kiwichai ,

i guess you may have made your purchase already, but in case not, having owned 50 1.4, and 50 1.2L - firstly, not a vast improvement (save at 1.2) but in most overlapping areas, the 1.4 is just as good or better than the 1.2L (sadly).... having owned only the 85 1.2L II (and not the 85 1.8) I would add that lens is really best used for portraits only... everything else... lets just say there are lenses better suited for those other purposes.

So, 50 1.4... buy it new... DO IT!

  • Angry!

  • me want ;]

  • Nice start :D

  • Cranks me up every time... :)
