that is true and the germans tried to get a cheap ride on the czeck war machine. They attacked Poland in Septemper 1939 with weapons captured in Czeckoslowakia earlier the same year.
The oto melara 381 mm weapon was the strongest weapon during WW2 with the exception of the japanese 460mm on the yamato.
How many nice things could have been built with the resources that went into war!
@jonestoy I don' think so at all. Comparating the sinked ton, where more UK ships sunk then Italian. But the where some real problems. Short of petrol, no radar, no aircarrier. Expecially German code Enigma was decripted at Blenchy Park, UK, so that British know in advance Italian Movement. Italian Regia Marina was not ineffective at all and Italian sailors where nor poor sailors. They did what was possible to do. But history is written by winners and they write another story. Questi meravigliosi video non li avevo mai visti in maniera così completa,a dimostrazione dell'efficienza della Regia Marina Italiana,complimenti per averli messi .
Mio nonno è stato imbarcato sulla corazzata Cavour ,per poi essere trasferito nel 1943 sulla Roma dove morì nel suo affondamento.

La Regia Marina fu l' unica tra le tre Armi italiane che impressionò Hitler ed i suoi generali durante le visita a Napoli.
