even if you could shift as fast as an auto box and launch as well with a manual setup, turbo's lose boost when you shift, so you're going be slower either way you look at it.. but in the end manual is a more exciting to drive on the street, and that's where it counts if it's your every day car
@SAWZEPP id have to say manual for the fact that you can rev the vehicle to a certain point before changing gears, sorry to say that my point of view is that manuals are better than autos in drag racing 7 out of 10 an auto will play up in a drag race thats from experience i own a supercharged vs Calais i got problems with my gearbox and as all Calais come as an auto
Hey that's me! I will never forget that day. That's what you get for trying to run in street tyres when you have 380rwkw. It behaved a lot better with the MT semi-slicks on. I ran an 11.6 that day if I remember right.
@270kphT5 yeh but how can you nearly miss something? if you missed it you missed it! nearly is another word for close haha! silly term but everyone uses it haha
man they need to fix that track timer everything runs 114mph in that lane, lol i did and i was only doing 96mph, still i have the time slip and my magna did 114mph LOL vids on here somewhere too, left lane ftw
easy answer, as turboclan said, manuals make mroe power because the weight of a flywheel + clutch, is less than the weight of a torque converter, and the easy answer is, drag racing = auto, rally or circuit racing = manual.
sorry mate but its because torque converter, just try to rev two same cars one manual other auto you will see big difference manual one is more responsive easier to rev
@marek0086 actualy it is the torque converter that suck alot of the power away it weighs twice as much as a manual flywheel and clutch put together and then theres the slack in the hydrolic process that sucks more power away my choice is manualy plus u have more control over the gears then u do in an auto, dont matter if u have manulised it its still gotta build up the hydrolic pressure to change gears
@marek0086 yeah keep on trying to make urself out as an expert when 2 guys have already told u that it aint what ur saying u dont know shit shut ur mouth

Sterling0011 2 years ago
thats not why!
Its because more power is lost to heat and drag in the auto fluid. Its not coz of the torque converter weight!
marek0086 2 years ago
yeah, basicaly what i said replace weight with resistance.
Sterling0011 2 years ago
no its nowhere near what u said!

@xX3movamp1reXx~ Its not the weight of the Torque converter!!!.... The power is lost through fluid-friction!!!!!
