I dont agree with what McCoy said, with the other Doctors taking on different roles. That would just seem naff. As far as i know, the Doctors who said they wouldnt do anything with the 50th is Tom Baker and Christopher Eccleston. Davison will probably do it seen as he did Timecrash, Baker [Colin] hasnt said anything about it yet, McCoy has, McGann said he would think about it only if he sat and read over the script or talked with someone over lunch, and Tennant said he wouldn't hesitate.
And with the Doctors having aged quite a bit, all we need is a line like the one in TimeCrash about "the time differential catching up" or some technical timey wimey mumbo jumbo :P
This is exactly what Big Finish did with Zagreus, their 40th anniversary special, with Peter Davison as a mad reverend, Colin Baker as a Great Old Vampire and Sylvester himself as a weird Walt Disney sort of character. I just found it really frustrating to have all these great, wonderful, amazing people on board but not the characters they played, and I think this would be even more the case with television. Come on, Moffat & co, it's the 50th anniversary. Indulge us. You know you want to.
Still hoping for Ace to return or at least have her fate explained. The inference that she was the one who was supposedly running a global charity never made sense to me. Ace would have got incredibly bored with the business side of that, unless it was just nothing but a cover.
Excellent video, thank you. Totally agree with Sylvester and Sophie - let's do something! Sylvester McCoy was my doctor, and I think he's just BRILLIANT!
@jonylawson73 If you found the last few seasons of the classic Doctor Who bad then that's your opinion. I just don't like you blaming Sylvester for Doctor Who's cancellation. You just don't get it was NOT HIS FAULT!
oh come on its precisely cos i do love doctor who.drs 6 and 7 were plain bloody awful.it was made at a time by people who didnt give a shit about dr who-actors included.now thanks to nostalgia and fan love there is alot of bandwagon jumping.show a non fan "time and the rani" or any dr 6 and 7 and they noticeably cringe.terrible terrible dark(albeit brightly lit) time in doctor whos history
@jonylawson73 Hey look man Sylvester was an awesome Doctor!!! Quit blaming the demise of the Classic Doctor Who on him! It wasn't his acting that got the show canceled. It was the BBC itself, I think, and the terrible scripts. To me there are no terrible Doctors. It's mean people like you who love to be so judgmental. >:(
@jonylawson73 Wow man. As someone who lived through the era you claim to be speaking with authority about, if you do even the slightest bit of research you will find that you are absolutely 100% incorrect about Sylvester or Colin having anything to do with the end of the Classic Series. It was, actually, the BBC themselves who no longer wished to support a science fiction show, while at the same time not willing to sacrifice political points by axing it outright. Fact, sir. Fact.
@jonylawson73 (CONT) Whittled away, piece by piece, DW lost budget, resources, & any kind of internal support. They lay the burden on producer John-Nathan Turner that if he left the show they would simply cancel it & publicly blame him. Thus the slow but orchestrated disintegration of the series. The actors, though--Sophie, Syl, Colin, Nicola--absolutely some of the best and most loyal ambassadors of Doctor Who. So, to sum it up: Do some research before you run your mouth. ;)

what a bloody ridiclous question.."would you like to be in the new series"? the new series of dr who that has won countless awards, has millions of viewers and has currently the greatest writer britain has produced.sophie aldred hasnt had a job since 1989.Thats like a tramp whom is offered bread insisting hes taken to a michelin restaurant...........eeeeh i ask ya
unfortunatly these two cant act their way out of a paper bag..especially sophie aldred so i very much doubt the BAFTA award winning dr who team would be looking at employing the cast whom got dr who axed becouse at the time it was so so utterly shit.nostalgia is such a dangerous thing
McCoy still has it, you can tell from this that he's just a hair coloring away from being able to stroll back into the role. I keep being surprised how together a lot of the cast is, Tegan and Peri still look fantastic, Tom and Colin Baker still have the energy to pull of the character, Sophie is just a wig and a baseball bat away from the character, (and nitro-9) I hope they bring back everyone they can get, and unlike stolen earth, actually give the characters stuff to do.

Cheers to the person that came up with the idea for each Doctor Who classic actor to have a role as someone else
