There CANNOT be new Pikmin in Pikmin 3 simply because:

1.It can't even out well

2.There would be complications

3.What more could you ask for, they're trying to make things better, and more realistic, trying to make more enemies, bosses and fixing issues and improving mechanics and they are trying to make up the story, so stop expecting so much...

My guess is that Nintendo released this to see people's reactions to the graphics/controls so they can edit the 3rd game to be better. I think this was just a test. I hope the 3rd comes out soon!

The wii has new updated sounds, more hi-def, and im pretty sure it has updated graphics. It also fixes old glitches the game has. If your allowed to play with both the new controls, and the old controls, than definetly get the Wii. If not, i'm not sure. I would still probably go with wii.

There's a $15 difference, and Nintendo only makes money from the Wii-make now.

The GC Pikmin is considerably harder than the Wii version, but if you know your stuff, the Wii version can save a few days of time, and even get you aquainted with the Wii controls for Pikmin 3.

BTW - Miyamoto-san might announce it at this year's E3.

i have it and it only uses the wiimote. It feels a lot smother than the gamecube version but it all depends on how it feels when you play it because it may be easy for some and not for others, that is why renting it is a good idea before you decide to but it.

well, i'm going to take your advice and rent it. But I do feel pretty smooth playing the game on a gamecube, I do pretty well in Pikmin 2.

It will probably be like ACCF, i'll overreact to the Wii controls and just end up liking them instead of hating them...

I just got this game a few days ago. I love it, but I keep having a problem. My pikmin are dying/disappearing mysteriously. One second I'll have 100 with me, and on the field. The next time I look, about 13 or more are gone. There are never enemies around either.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?

Actually, you may wanna take another look around to be sure that your pikmin aren't dying from an incoming attack. Always keep an eye on them to be sure that they are okay.

Note: If you are running too quick or too swiftly turning corners and your pikmin cannot keep up, they will GIVE up and sit down when they are ready to. It's often best to just slow your row with them, what's the rush!?

Well thanks, but here's what happened. I was fighting the Mushroom guy. Right when I killed him, I called the Pikmin back and 14 were just gone. He hadn't even had a chance to use his poison yet either. The Pikmin that vanished were confirmed kills though. :'(

that wouldn't make any kind of financial sense on Nintendo's part, as that game didn't get as much critical acclaim as other mario games, on the other hand, it is as possible as a remake of luigi's mansion, so it's not like its impossible.

Only if you want to try out the WIi controls or are bothered about a tad improvement of the graphics. If I were you, I wouldn't bother, especially at their price. Not much is known about Pikmin 2 on Wii though, so I can't say anything about that.

Not neccesarily, you guys often get games earlier than us, although recently, the gap has been narrowing, and we do get some games earlier, yes. Pikmin is one such example, but remember than you got games like Super Smash Bros Brawl, Professor Layton and Super Paper Mario waaay before us, amongst many others. Only occasionally do you guys get the short straw (ie. MaBoShi on WiiWare).

I myself haven't played the game, but from what I've heard so far, the controls work very well, although aren't used to their full extent - meaning that if you want a real revolutionary control system, you'll have to wait until Pikmin 3.
