'sqwertery' This is i believe.,,,the best live recording iv,e ever heard...not on 'YOUTUBE' but the 'live' E.P. they brought out of this recording ,nothing else has sounded has good ...!!!!!!!
Saw them around this time a few times during the camo era which lasted just a few months really but the effect was pretty awesome and they had a sound that was so unique it was so easy to see they would influence many many bands to come. Truely a great rock and roll band.
Hard to believe these kids had minimal equipment and yet produced such atmospheric sound. this was before the full onslaught of the digital age. Will Sergeant literally had maybe 1 or 2 analog pedals and that was about it! most guitar players nowadays wank away on 20 or so stompboxes and cant even touch the texture of the likes of this. go figure. it is called "soul" and "inventivness".
This is the single greatest bit of music ever made. The song on the album is blah! But this particular version is the greatest music ever made by man. God himself could not create a better tune than this. With this song, human beings have finally contributed something to the universe. I swear, nothing from another galaxy can match this. This is raw power that is not matched by any band.
One of the greatest English guitar bands at their absolute peak. How incredible is Will's guitar playing on this??? I've heard bands with two or three guitarists not be able to match him sonically. Pete and Les were an astonishing rhythm section too, much missed I think. And Mac always had the chops, lucky bleeder...
amazing performance!!!! this has many new parts. pete de freitas is a fantastic drummer, will sergeant is a rock painter, les pattinson plays a strong bass and mac is a brilliant new wave or post-punk jim morrison (but the sweater looks a bit posh!)
i fell in love with this song all over again!

Less Pattison on bass, the late Peter De Freitas on drums.
As mentioned elsewhere, this track is one of 4 on the "Shine So Hard" EP which reached 37 in the UK charts.
The tracks from the EP are featured on the 25th anniversary reissue of the album Crocodiles

Whoever the bass player on this song is, he deserves the greatest praise.

He dances like a neurotic sixth-former on his third cider whilst attempting early Mick Jagger.
They're a crackin' band though..

Love those 80's, reminds me alot of Richard Butler of the Psyhcedelic Furs, from the clothes, to the foot steps and cigarette.
