  • Google search this. Obama's Muslim Advisor Gulen Movement

Then google search Gulen Charter schools then Tucson Weekly Gulen

  • 45,000 a year as a third year in Texas, go to south Texas and it drops to 38,000 for a third year. Why aren't we compensated adequately?

  • Greetings from the state of Washington. Our wonderful Democratic governor and legislature have somehow managed to put us $3 billion in the hole. To make up this budget shortfall, guess who are loosing their jobs? Teachers! So how does Obama suggest we improve our education system by having fewer teachers? Maybe instead of bailing out the UAW workers at GM he should have directed more funds toward education like he said he would. I guess building Chevys is more important than educating children.

  • Ummmm.... we're laying off hundreds of teachers here in San Diego...

Maybe if they cut out a few layers of middle management in the administration & killed all the lawyers that bring these frivolous lawsuits on the schools over whether or not Johnny can wear his KKK Tshirt...

  • Talk, and say nothing.

  • Talk, and say nothing. How about taking the violent criminals out of school, so that teachers can teach, and students can learn?

Do you think that grades would improve then? Try it, just for the heck of it. What the Hell. They've tried everything else.

  • I am a Republican but I will be voting for MR. Obama. He is inspiring.

  • I totally agree. Why are we paying athletes 9-10 milion a year to catch a football, when we have some of the greatest minds in America, making $50-60 thousand a year. That's unacceptable. We also need to bring back the arts in public education, since its so significant to a well rounded education. I wish parents would put more of an emphasis on reading and education, then on watching tv and numbing the mind.

  • teachers in New York make more like 30-40 thousand...

  • WOW!!! That's really low, and the cost of living is some of the highest inn the country.

  • Wrong! The latest figures I found are for 2004-2005 so they are old..The average teacher salary in New york is $56,665 dollars! Beginning teachers salary in new york was $37,321 dollars

So $55,665 is the average meaning many teachers make well above that!

  • @quaheedus NYC has a higher pay grade than other states and it is often quite convenient that the pay scale used to show teacher wages come from the highest districts and say nothing about the inflated coast of living in urban centers that would make a teachers wage much lower in comparison to their cost of living. I have taught for 10 years and am quite far away from making 55, 000. There is a reality that is neglected when discussing this issue.

  • Its called supply and demand! Many people are capable of teaching with the right education and training! Not to many people can do what professional athletes do. You cant train anyone to throw a 100 mph fast ball,do the 40 yard dash in 4.6 seconds or run 100 yards in 10.5 seconds.Or kick a 50 yard field goal, or dunk a ball from the Key! If everyone could, then there would be plenty of supply and they would get paid very little!

  • @quaheedus also not everyone can teach and to suggest that anyone can teach is tantamount to blasphemy. It is very obvious that you are not in or have never been in a classroom because if you had been then you may not frame the world of teaching in comparison to the grotesquely inflated wages of professional athletes and their natural abilities. Furthermore I do not agree that all it takes is training there is a natural talent for teaching that makes those who possess it stand out.

  • @Soulquarium Classic Diamond-water paradox. Even though teachers are more essential to society(water), professional football players(diamonds) are scarce. The players also bring in insane amounts of revenue for the NFL via merchandise, ticket sales, tv contracts, ect.
