This song is about being attached to a past event which hinders you to the point where you'd rather stick with it than know what the world has to offer...because you can always count on it and people who are not affected by it always look the same. I have had emotionally abusive parents all my life and i know exactly what this is-its a question as to why he himself chooses to be faithful to something that isn't his-that isn't real. This is about feeling guilt for not overcoming your master..

no thats not true, in a basement on the hill was soppused to be a double album with like 30 tracks and when he died they released as only a single, he wanted this stuff released, and there was about 10 songs that he didn'y want to release but that was because he personally didn't like hearing the songs due to a blown friendship, but i don't think he would mind now that he doen't have to hear them
