I only read a few of the comments but it's sad to me that people can't just see it for what it is and stop arguing. It's a simple concept...be kind to others. Dogs, cats and children are helpless and innocent in different ways. The cruelty to stray animals is astounding and never ceases to cause me to feel disappointment in humanity. If that makes me a "hippie" then so be it. When did kindness and empathy for other living things become a bad thing?!!!?
It's not about children being more important than dogs. It's more about innocence and helplessness. Both children and animals need to be protected. Both feel pain, hunger, and fear. Neither should be subjected to suffering and neglect.
Dogs who have no owners should be castrated. But ask yourself this question: who has put these dogs on the street? Indeed, we did, humans. So YES, it is our responsibility! If we can stop them from reproducing, that's one step in the good direction... BTW: Don't understand how someone can put a dog on the street and close the door.... for good.

A child is a child and yes more valueable than "a dog" as you say but to a lot of people who do not have children, their pets are their children and they are capable of loving them as such. Abuse is abuse and it should not be tolerated regardless. It's not acceptable for one group, it shouldn't be acceptable at all. That is the message.

I assume that the aim of this commercial is to raise awareness in the majority of people, who I believe neither adore or hate dogs, they just don't really care much. Those people are going to think ok, it is cruel, but comparing to a child is going a bit to far...and therefore will not take it very seriously..
