  • this clip os soooooo gay !!!!!

  • I was 10 when this was knew and it is still great BG

  • @gpatricknavarro

Well now, here's dancing Whitey didn't nick from the Blacks!

  • Comment removed

  • Good song and the women in this video are knockouts!

  • Where are those guys going at the end...all four of them...

  • people dont give bobby v credit, at least this guy had a voice and, could carry a tune This music was before hippy stuff, the innocence of it goes back to times that are no longer here 4 our kids today... at the time of this music i was happy for a french kiss, now who knows what goes on

  • fine if u like men

  • thank you

    Bobby Vee

    les annees bonheur

    Rocky

    en France

un salut a Roger Stevens en Angleterre

    Gil

  • THE blonde that was with him was a knockout ,me I would keep her loved her hair and outfit I wonder if she's still alive must be in her 70's by now ,better looking then what we have now by a long shot ,wish we could turn back time and live a life worth living ,oh to dream of the past, at least we still have our memories that they can't take!!!!!!!!!

  • Glorious times - sadly no more -

  • @z1zaz

Is this on the same planet - thanks for the memories...

  • This is hilarious! By that i mean great! The broad who dances by sitting on the motorcycle and spreading her legs---yowza!!

  • @humongousaldo LOL!

  • this bobby vee is a cutie!

  • what a "fun, toe tappin', sing along" vid. Love it

  • The dudes are riding Honda 50's. Anyone see Frankie & Annette? They're probably behind some rock smoking a bong, eh?

  • reminds me off rick astley

  • DOES anyone know who the young lady was who rode with him ,she was knockout!!

  • This video is ridiculous (and fun), but I used to love this song ;)

  • I bawled over laughing with the guy in the blue speedo!!!

  • This is such a fun video from yesteryear! He was very attractive back in the day.

  • This is such a fun video from yesteryear! I love it

  • He is a great singer. Still is! Saw him a few years ago. And he happened to be in Fargo because that is his hometown.

  • haha, smiling Bob?

  • This could not have been shown on television in the '60's! Could it??? Na...maybe it was in a movie?

  • How bizarre is this?!

  • The soundtrack is similar to Vee's classic original 1963 hit but not the same. He was a first-rate singer with a long string of hits that came to be largely because he just happened to be in Fargo, N.D. when local talent was recruited in 1959 to fill in on tour for Buddy Holly (Bobby's idol), Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper after the three were killed in a plane crash. Vee's image was as a handsome innocent. He looks good here, but -- I hate to say this -- a bit too much like Dennis Day!

  • Woh the girls... they move fine...!

  • you can tell it was filmed indoors in a studio because of the fake rocks and scenery

  • This is certainly one of the most bizarre Scopitone videos they ever made. Figuring out why it's so disturbing and untasteful in every way should keep people busy for some time. I always wonder if you could set out to re-create something like this or is it merely accidental?

  • Ya had to be in the 60's to really appreciate this video clip!

    :)

  • @Dovey thats a lie im 11 and i love this song you have to be born with a good ears

  • Sir(s): If I may, at this Date and Time, state here and attest to the full how I am so glad that you need Me as much as I want to be wanted now in this New Clarity of Mind or, shall I say, "the Mind of Christ," both historically of importance within context of the Parliament of Souls. I am always a good soldier and the like and perhaps as a "good little general," so, come on now, "Be My Little General."

  • i have so much love for this song, but the video doesnt match the song?:L

  • @afroloverx ... I agree ... great song, but terrible film clip ... doesn't do justice to a pop classic. Wayne

  • Music from the 60's was good, no doubt (I was born in the 70's), but this video is just ridiculous. Every guy in this piece should have had his "Man Card" revoked permanently, especially the goof in the blue Speedo!

  • @kensimmonsmba We have "man cards"??

  • @kensimmonsmba LOL !

  • lol white people

  • FAB thats all

  • that's what I like: an upbeat, positive attitude.

  • I don't know who the young lady is that played the girl friend part is but she was a knockout and her hair style looked great too bad we can't go back in time and enjoy all the good things that was happening then, sad things go by so fast and we don't get to enjoy them.

  • whats up with how this guy pronounces his words?

  • I looked him up cause I realized how many good songs he had and he's been married to his high school or college sweetheart for 40 years, still looks handsome and still sings with his sons' band. The video is so bizarre - I've sent it to a ton of people.

  • the dude in the blue speedos(budgie smugglers) is the star of this clip, lmao.

  • @orden265 lmao

  • Now the beaches are inhabited by mexican illegals and vietnamese hookers

  • @ebeneezzer

The "beach is a studio mock-up and the babes are Austin Powers' fembots enjoying downtime. Get real dude!

  • @drwinkle101 Good one, Dude!

  • collar up - sheer, utter coolness.

  • Any video with girls in swimsuits jiggling about works for me. But, Bobby Vee? What a queer lookin' fella - even for the 60's. Bet he was a rump-ranger. It's the squeaky-clean look they tried for in those days that makes all so funny.

  • @Kellberto Leave it to some closet case to talk about rump rangers and looking for gays in old videos.

  • @sporran564 I'm sorry, but you can't deny the weird homosexuality in this. It seems so sterilized and strange where the people are just dancing mannequins. And there seems to be more excitement involving the shirtless men in speedos than the gals dancing.

  • the production quality for a music video like this is amazing for its time..way ahead of its time!

  • Why did they use an alternate audio track? It's totally different!

  • classic bike in the start anyone know the name<,?

  • lmfao? nice shorts lol. classic song

  • This has to be one of my favorite songs--Thanks--Leo

  • Interesting video...this must be an alternative mix...in this version, he's singing a low counterpoint harmony to the melody. In the original, he sings the high part.

The choreography was typical of the mid 60's.

  • It's shit as Justin Bieber and sex appelative as any gangsta song.

There's nothing like "oh kids listen shit today" because that's shit as well.

  • hondas were cheaper much cheaper and kids in the beach towns in California got them cheap... not powerful but cost effective and worked on the beaches

  • This is some kind of Rickroll, right?

    ...right?

  • The Universal Video! Blokes who like men will like the men, blokes who like girls will like the girls and laugh at the men who like men who are watching it, girls who like men will be admiring the hair styles of the men, and girls who like girls wont be watching it anyway. Brilliant. Only thing is, why are they riding Hondas? Hondas must have been very rare then in the US, they surely would normally be on Harleys.

  • Its soooo funny. When your are feeling down just stick this on!! love it

  • Blue banana hammock!

  • # 3 on Billboard Hot 100 this song was everywhere in 63'.

  • Everyone commenting is right on this site. They don't make great songs like this anymore and it is an intentionally and unintentionally funny video and this is not the original version. Sexy video - that girl was "Sha sha shakin" like Eddie Money sang, snapping her fingers .. moving round and round and up and down - that girl was shakin. Whoah oh oh yeah.

  • this is not the record version

  • That dipshit with the bbq fork is going to stab himself at :53.

  • @risky1 LOL!

  • i love this song. he's like a crazed murderer with a nice way to say what he means . LOOK AT THOSE WHORES ON THE BEACH!

  • I was 16 when this song came out, loved it then and love it now.

Bobby, your the best, the music died for me around 1980. I still have all your albums and still play them on my 1978 automatic drop record player, complete with 8 track. I am accused of being stuck in a time warp. Guess maybe I am. From and "old" fan.

  • what sad ages i think the world was awful at the time . it is better now

  • @vaggelisparaskevas better now? you are nuts

  • @vaggelisparaskevas Are you SERIOUS?!!!!

  • @vaggelisparaskevas and you're from GREECE?!!!............from the pictures we all see it doesn't look like Greece is better now............

  • Such a sweet, innocent and fun time....for both the music and life...

  • The dancers are funny yes lol..but the song is awesome!

  • Bobby Vee is awesome!

  • what the fuck!? (with a Die Hard 3 accent)

  • he is so totally gay

    that clothes and that face

  • @jade: Maybe the reason they judge people based on their age is because the new generations all act like they forgot to go to school, and guess what, you aren't helping anything, your post is grammatically despicable, it seems like every other word was either misspelled, abbreviated unnecessarily, or used incorrectly.....oh, I should also mention, I'm 25, but that doesn't give me the excuse to act like an uneducated moron.

  • can i jus say im 21 n i listen 2 the so called crap u say is around nowa days but i also love the 60's n 90's so people should stop judgin people my age cos im sure there was stuff u didnt like from ur older relatives time so shhh..

  • These guy in blue pants... What a movements

  • Greatest piece of film ever made! Man, before they went south the 60s was one of the greatest decades in human history, and this clip has every reason why. Great music and styles, pure fun, and American women at their sexiest. Alas, tis but a memory now.

  • @capecanaveral81

"greatest piece of film ever made." Uh....er....where to begin...

  • @capecanaveral81 would be great if the sixties was a TV studio construct wouldn't it

  • This has got to be one of my favorite YouTube videos-definately one of the campiest :-) Love Bobby Vee's voice also. Pure fun and joy-keep bringing happiness into our world :-)

  • LOL so 1960s LOL if i didn't know if it was the 60s..i could guess.. i am in my early 20s

  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

  • This is hilarious!

  • Love this timeless song! When I was little, I wanted to take the guy in the blue speedos and carry him away over my shoulder, spanking his behind while he pounded his fists on my back screaming "STOP IT!"

  • Off he rides into the night ....with his mom. A little incestuous.

I would have picked that brunette.

  • I'd like to give that one with black hair in a cha cha skirt some credit

  • Song was written by someone else who didn't get credit.

  • man, are they havin' fun or what?

  • He was the only celebrity I ever had a crush on back then. Something's wholesome about him and his accent is so irresistible. Not to even mention how great looking he is!

  • Isn't it ironic that that wearing the bikini was ok in the early 60s but yet by 1968 or so, Barbara Eden on I Dream Of Jeanie had to cover her navel...

  • Yeah, but it's the men's bathing suits that have *really* changed!

  • that was the definition of AKWARD!!!

if they keep dancing like that they r gonna throw their backs out!! ouch!

  • Saw Bobby Vee perform this song north of Seattle this summer. He is just as good as ever and his sons play with him. I talked with every single person and gave autographs to everyone that asked. We talked for a long time about music andlife.

  • hilarious

  • look like ricky martin

  • lol some of these 60's chicks look hot....I know there old now but still a compliment goes to them back in the day.

  • LMAO at this clip, loved the comment by Lambretta 186.

  • gay bikers on acid....

  • Marvelous!

  • comments like this pisses me right off, if someone started off a sentance 'black people there'd be fookig hell on.

Take your racist comment and stick it up your arse, you narrow minded fuck wit.

  • its cool man hes just jealous of our sick moves :P

  • And you thought that music videos with incomprehensible "plots", cheesy production values and odd choreography didn't exist until MTV! Heck, this Bobby Vee performance was so ahead of its time that it was even overtly gay-friendly, as we see from the loving, lingering shots of Mr. Blue Speedo as he writhed and wriggled. Let's title this one "Weekend At Fire Island".

  • I loved this song as a kid.... I was born in the 80's!

  • I would be very angry at my friends if I would leave with my chick and they came along on small motorcycles in speedo`s.

  • when i left high school in 1962 i bought a bobby vee album with my first pay check it was rubber ball and ive been a fan ever since i saw him live here in t.o. in the early 70s not to sure about this video it does seem kind of gay but i know bobby isnt

  • OK, Bobby Vee in nutters and then there's that guy in the blue banana hammock.

    I am sufficiently creeped out.

  • so sixties-what are they doing having so much fun?

  • @ggcarere: Life was fun in the '60s! Not to bring it down...but, I don't like the way the world is today. I've been watching things change for the worse, since the '50s.

  • wow how kool was that man dig those sexy chicks

  • tremendous

  • nice

  • LOL I remember my mother had a Ken doll that looked a lot like Bobby Vee in this song

  • Wait have I been Rick Roll'd

  • aaah I want that bike!

  • You are so right M374EVL! The music died in 1994!

    JS

  • just think about the shit kids listen to today and call it music

  • at least our clips are a lot better =)

  • @M374EVL poor childeren havent seen anything in life but they all learn one day something or another let us hope for the best.

  • @M374EVL Well...things always change with the times. 50 years before 1960 music was probably quite different during that time.

  • @M374EVL no need to paint every youth with the same brush, im 17 and a rapper but fuck me the 60's is the best music ever to grace the ears of the world

  • @M374EVL i know!! it's really hard to believe there is music worse than this!

  • @BelieveIntheBucket Sure there is. Just turn on the damned radio !!!!

  • just think-- hey're all grandma's now

  • dancing's great!

  • "Retro".

  • Is this still rock n roll?!?

  • Anyone who doesnt burst out laughing watching this video obviously isnt watching the video.

  • @penguinegg01 in this sort of beautiful music there are deep roots of meaning in the song that tell you whats the meaning of song .and also todays music is lacking of that particular thing. thats we call todays music "senceless" meaning theres no meaning in the song the question why did they even made that song -music.

  • @Mastergenius00. I was refering to the video, not the song, which is fine. But the video, c'mon. wtf.

  • @penguinegg01

    check out MY video

"MICHAEL HANSEN How come so many people are having fun laughing sci fi bob December 11, 2008" it has a live showing of the same scopiotone and the crowd is screaming with laughter!!!

  • @penguinegg01

check out my video "MICHAEL HANSEN How come so many people are having fun laughing sci fi bob December 11, 2008" which has this scopiotone in it, with technical difficulties, and the audience is screaming with laughter.

  • @penguinegg01

I happen to have this on my video called "How come so many people are having fun laughing sci fi bob December 11, 2008" (which has some technical difficulties) for best results start at 3:54 on MY video!!! it is LIVE & pass it on

you will hear the crowd laughing at this

  • @penguinegg01 i was doing good until the girl started throwing her legs up while she sat on the bike

  • That was kinda hot in a weird "ashamed of the 60's beach party movies" way. Those girls with a few implants could be in a Jay-Z video

  • I hate that girl on the motorcycle so hard with that crazy leg thing shes doing

  • Holy Toledo. And yet the girls are actually...kinda hot...?

  • HA, this is HILARIOUS! i love bobby vee...seems a bit raunchy for the stuff he usually does though. WATCH THE DUDE IN THE BLUE SPEEDO DANCE!!!!

  • Yah...Yah.....I'm hip! I'm hip!

I better find the wife....cuz that gal airing it out on the bike has me a little......frisky !!

  • Why doesn't Bobby do the decent thing eh ???

It's obvious his bird has the horn the way she's bobbing about on that bike !! lol

  • Cause the night has a thousand chicks dancing with seaweed!

  • This is NOT the hit version. This is a re-record. Its not a bad re-record, but it IS a re-record!

  • nothing wrong with good-looking white folks in sexy undies.

  • Bad ass bikers & there wild-sex crazed dancer girls---Bobby Vee had the good looks and voice.Enjoyed it.

  • I saw Bobby Vee on some show the other night and even for an old guy he still looks good!

  • get down white boy!

  • This is no re-recording merely the 63 version that accompanied the video. Lots of singers did alternate cuts of their songs (for various reasons) back then. The single version was sharper. Want to hear a crap re-recording - dig out Bobby's K-Tel effort of this song from '77.

  • Re-recording of what? Priapus, you lack accuracy, precision, and any other meaurse of verisimilitude you care to mention. Did you know that Priapus was into gardening as well as the other thing? Perhaps you'd best stick to that

  • Anyone with a name like Priapus must have something small to hide.

This was the original hit by vee. Crap video, but great song.

  • Geehhzzer! Get your hearing aid checked. I bet you £50 at 10-1 against this is a crap re-recording...

  • Anyone with a name like Priapus must have something small to hide.

This was the original hit by vee. Crap video, but great song.

  • what is this rubbish? It's a dreadful re-recording of a fab record!

  • Damn, some funny ass white folks with some sexy undies. Lol

  • how ever so interesting back then when seen from eyes of now c_c

  • i think in those days this clip was at the edge and in many livingrooms the telly was turned off (its a scandal)

  • I love it,so retro.Its on my fav list.

  • that the hell dance was that

  • loved it so 60 ish

  • this song is brilliant!

  • you can say that again !!!

  • do you think this was a early reference to cctv? thanks for the post ..

  • This is hilarious! The girl waving her legs around on the motorcycle makes me laugh. The dancers are all laughing their asses off, so they must know how funny they were, or did they think they were cool?

  • In 40 years, everything that looks cool now will look like this does today.

  • Is that Christine Keeler at 2.20?

  • The more I watch it, the harder I laugh
