@miladsafi12 theyre completely different headphones. if you like bass, these are not for you.. there are better options like the Sony MDRV700DJ.. which will give you plenty of bass and decent mid-range.. do not by dr dre.. they made by Monster Cable which tries to sell you hdmi cables for $200.
@VanCity1289 i saw the broadway tour on a whim a couple of years back and became hooked. i do a complete listen threw at least once a week and watch the bluray regularly too. its really timeless.
@JogBird You're probably listening to that hiss because of the noise isolation + the high sensitivity of your SE535, that's actually the noise floor of your Sony X1060.
@TepawHD sony cx500. its pretty good in this case because theres tons of light, i get in really close, and there isnt really any movement. thanks for watching. the newest iteration, the cx760, has a built-in steadicam and much more manual controls.. this one is basically point and shoot
@JogBird Hi, where or how do you get the 30pin to 3,5mm jack converter... i have been searching for a high quality short cable like you have but just found some junk which has a poor quality cable and are 1meter or more long. Please answer me pe post if it is possible.
@Kill3R0764 ive actually never heard of that. the x does come with a 30-pin to 3.5mm male connector that lets you plug into a 3.5 female (to allow use of noise cancelling on other sources)... but, thats prob. not what youre looking for.
@maarten426 i just mean that im not an audio engineer and have limited ability in describing the sound characteristics of the iem. i know it sounds good, has amazing detail, and good bass for me. i also dont want to get into audiophile mumbo jumbo (brightness, warmth, etc). also, hipsters are definitely not buying these, they are using those pos dr dre or headphones or apple earphones. you have to buy these at an authorised shure dealer (ie. NOT bestbuy, apple, etc)
@maarten426 why do you have to be a sound geek to purchase $500 headphones? i own a pair and think theyre amazing and truly worth it because i can listen to my music, tv, videos to a full extent and experience the best possible sound quality and receive maximum entertainment
My cowon j3 does background hiss until i back out and go into the system settings then its gone dont know why does it with my triple.fi as well as my 535's
1 dude you sound gay as fuck, 2 who the hell uses earphones for 10 god damn years, 3 if you listened to some trance I'm sure you'd get way better sound and 4 WHOEVER SPENDS $400 ON EARBUDS EITHER BETTER HAVE STACKS OR HAS NO LIFE. PIONEER HDJ-2000'S OR DIE! Headphones are way better
WHY IS EVERYONE FIXATED WITH BASS???? Not all music requires ear bleeding bass levels - only rap and techno/electronica! So go and buy the Dre's, they have massive bass levels but fuck all else and they are over priced and poorly made - yes, I have owned some! These Shure are the best in ear and the B&W P5's are the best overheads for SOUND QUALITY and your buck!
3:03 Sony is planning on releasing a new larger screen Walkman. Not in the same design and more looking like a smartphone but its coming soon. The X is a gorgeous device and sounds incredible. I've run into a few fluke $5 earphones, I'd be interested in comparison to the Shure's, you're describing listening to music the same way I would describe the cheapers.
The reason there is sibilance(background hiss) is because the balanced armatures used are intended to be sensitive and you can hear a hiss because of interference inside your device.
it's actually both the player and the earphone, shure 535 is very sensitive more so than the audio technica or the sony, so any noise from the source would be heard.
you didn't hear it with the other two earphones because they are not as good as se535...i have the xk walkman with ie8. i get the same problem....i totally agree with you, sony xk is very good..not sure why sony stop it.
the background hiss IS the music player, the other headphones just aren't as isolated or as good, and you don't notice it because there's other ambient noise..the headphones are too good for your sony walkman, lol!
@JogBird I just got these a week ago and I could immediately tell the difference from my PortaPro by Koss...OBVIOUSLY, but for some reason I find the difference in quality is not worth the $500. Unless, these sound better after breaking them in....Maybe it's because it lacks the bass. I appreciate the bass alot.
@Juilkca these use balanced armatures, there should be no break in period (although, there is some debate)... so, if youre not satisfied with the sound/price, then make sure you return them while you can. have you tried the different plugs? they may make a difference in terms of bass since they have different densities... although, these are never going to replace a huge speaker diaphragm for producing bass... for small iem theyre not bad
@Juilkca You aren't getting good bass because you aren't getting a proper seal. This is absolutely critical. The seal should be so good that you can almost not hear anything around you when there is no music playing - just like having a good pair of earplugs in. I had this problem when I first bought my SCL4s years ago. When I figured out the seal, everything changed.
@KwyjiboIsAnApe DAMN u replied fast lol but didnt know there were amps that support crossfeed :o and damn hd650? Nice man, im only into IEMs i have the Shure se210 recabled, jvc fx300 and v-moda vibe ii which is way too overpriced but i managed to get it for 35 euros :D
@Restricti0n sorry, never tried them. to be honest, i tried them out at a store, they sounded amazing.. and based on that and the reputation that shure had i just bought them... its very hard to do a whole bunch of comparisons try to figure out whcih one is best... the opportunity cost i think would be the same as any price difference
@MacFan1992 sorry, ive never tried them. i think at this level, they will all sound great and the difference will be in how they warm or technical to you and the type of music you listen to. if its possible, you should go to a store and try out a bunch of pairs with your own music.
The background hiss is just the sound of the DSP in the PMP being amplified by the amp in the PMP. You did not hear it with the old ones because the speakers in the old ones are much farther away than the hiss, and because the old ones probably had a higher impedance.
This means that the Shure SE535 are delivering more than the old ones. That's it.
@MrBarrbapapa i think if youre going to keep these for 10 yrs, then i would say yes. theyre very well made and unless you lose them or they get stolen, they will last well past that.. the Sonys i showed on here, the glue started drying up and the rubber pieces came off.. the se535 unit is a solid piece of tough plastic and the cables can be replaced. its designed to last a long time. im sure the 425 are well made too, but, why not spend a bit more for the very best for a lifetime of awesome iems
@musicforindies i got the bronze because i wanted the black cable, the clear ones come with the clear cables which didnt appeal to me at all. the bronze is also shiny. either way, they will blow your mind.
that hissing sound your hear are from the drivers for the 535's. Kinda like when you hear you're car engine running after you've turned on the ignition. You should be worried if you didn't hear that sound while the music player is on. And BTW, the cables are of the HIGHEST quality that I have ever owned. I am a definite audiophile who has owned well over 32 different headphones(ranging $10-$600 each). My Shure's are my personal "Final Audio Frontier" . - Good Luck and Good Nite =P
@01thebrain Actually the hiss is most likely coming from the music player. The se535 is picking up the noise floor of the Walkman. If if were the se535 hissing, I'd be quite worried. The reason is because the se535 probably have a higher sensitivity and lower impedance than the other headphones (and the fact that they isolate a lot) allowing it to pick up finer sounds more easily. In this case, it is the noise floor of the Walkman. Different audio devices will vary in the audibility of the hiss.
@909nemesis Its hard to simulate the sound levels achieved because of the way they work. In my experience, i can achieve the same level of "loudness" at 50-60% of the volume, compared to the headphones i show in this video. This is a function of the sound isolation and high sensitivity of the drivers.
In other words, I dont think achieving "loudness" is an issue at all... in fact, its always tempting to crank it up because the clarity and detail of the music is just incredible, but i try not to.
@909nemesis It will depend on the tip you use and how tight the fit is. If its too loose, the bass will not be as much as it can be. I think the foam tips are more bassy since there is more surface contact with your ear canal. For me, its more than enough, but, im not a bass junkie.
Probably the best thing you can do is to try them out and see if you like them. Bring your own music. Try out the 425 as well. If its a good store, they will sanitize the tips after each person tries them.
@Sackboygrenade I did some reading. Shure's explanation is that these are so sensitive and sound isolating that these will pick up device-hiss, where others will mask them. These are passive devices and any noise is coming from the device itself. There is more hiss in other devices that ive tried them on (i was expecting that). While this is true, the quality of the copper in the cabling will go along way towards attenuating that. But, its no big wup in practical terms. Thanks for watching.
I dont know. These are canal type earphones and with the foam tips, provide passive sound isolation. But, its definitely not active noise canceling. The earphones that came with the X1060 are active noise canceling and have mics on the earphones and a 4 pole plug.. incidentally, they hiss like crasy as well, but, i never use them since they sound bad.
In any case, its no big deal since it basically goes away when you are listening to music... i just expected these to be perfect given the price.
They are noise cancelling earphones. So the background hiss is the noise-cancelling system in action, all headphones with that feature makes that noise.
