  • YFD41H is mine. These pics were taken before i owned it but sadly on 25th June 2011 it caught fire. (fuel line split). I'll be restoring her and am dealing with insurance as I type this.

  • I wouldn't mind having the 4 wheel one, however 60mph in it would be scary...

  • You are right, I should add Sold to the statement, the four wheeler made by reliant ended up being taken home by an employee and the back to back one dumped. So I was told by former emplyees at a Reliant gathering last year.

  • The Rah Band, that takes me back. Why are Bond cars always seem to be wonderfully mental. My Equipé has four kinds of reactions: 1. Kids laughing at it! 2. Attractive young women (whilst I am not in the car) wondering over to it, and wondering what it is… 3. Some blokes looking at in awe… and 4. A man doing a rude hand gesture whilst driving his BMW… Still can't work out if it's because my brother was in the car! Keep up the good work!

  • Its a go kart!

  • Want one. Great video, love the music.

  • @stephenmcvicar

Come to Woburn Abbey Sunday the 15th and you will see loads of Bond Bugs, we are celebrating the cars 40th anniversary there..

I too love the music, brought it when it first came out, but my favourite tune is the one I added to the North Cape to home video, so relaxing.... closely followed by the Birmingham to Malta and Back. Mind you the Home to North Cape music aint bad either.

hope my videos help sell all the tunes to a new audience.

  • @MalteseLion

Just bought the black ine at 1.47 + 3.22! picking up Saturday.

  • Hi Stephen congratulations and welcome to the buggin world. If its the Black one called AUBrey you've got a nice little bug. Not sure what 1.47 +3.22! means. Hope to see you at a rally in it.

  • Incredible statistic I heard from the Bug club a month ago - After 40 years, over half of the original cars still exist, when the average life of a normal car is 12 years. A truly stunning car that both Reliant and Bond should have been proud of (when they weren't in-fighting of course).

  • Oh wow, my husband had one of these for a few years.... sold it in the early 80's ~ great fun and turned a lot of heads....!!! excellent pics!!!!! ;0)

  • Still turns the heads and those under 25 think they're NEW. I'm Selling one of mine now on ebay. The Black one as seen on Bond Bug 360 and Bond Bug on ebay NOW video's

  • Can only repeat last reply!

Thanks for the nice comments. Not really a practical car but they are great fun and still turn a lot of heads.

A few have been shipped to the USA, but only a few, I think you can count them on one hand. You will eiher have to ship one over or emigrate to the UK, if you really really want one!!

  • i would love to have one of these cars

but i have never seen one, EVER

America's cars are rather borning for the most part lol

  • Quirky little car. Nice to see people keeping them alive

  • Thanks for the nice comments. Not really a practical car but they are great fun and still turn a lot of heads.

  • and who is this music from ??

    are these original 4 wheelers??

    Fred

  • No Four wheelers ever left the Reliant factory, those seen in this video are Bugs converted to four wheelers usually using a mini sub frame. In saying that one or two may be Webster Bugs who tried to sell a few in four wheel format as well as three.

The Music is The Crunch by The Rah Band

    cheers

    Rory

  • Not strictly true, there was one four wheeler genuinely made by Reliant for display at a motor show when the car was launched. it had two bodies mounted back-to-back as the organisers argued that a 3 wheeler wasn't a car. I have also seen pictures of a Reliant made four wheeler prototype in the '90s but don't know if they ever sold it

  • The Rah Band. The Crunch. 1977. During original production Reliant did make one 4 wheeler.

WMC made a four wheel kit back in 1990.

  • The music is 'The crunch' from the Rah Band.

  • Well done Rory, super video and great soundtrack.
