Hi mjpickles. Actually, it's a floating floor, meaning, that the top hovers above foam padded spring columns and then you have the mats on top. Thus, the floor gives and slightly springs back. Very soft compared to non-floating floors...

Interesting Kaeshi Waza: I've never seen that sutemi waza as a reaction to Irimi Nage before.
