@greg12m3 So strange you have owned both cars. I am finally ready to buy a performance car. Always had my eye on the '01-'03 M5. Finally can pick up a really nice 1 owner around my price range. Due to reading constant reviews on affordable performance, I also am curious about the evo x, as it's in the same exciting category and similar money, lightly used. I'd be really curious to hear any input you might have. Is the cheaper interior of the Mitsu overly disappointing, etc etc.
@DaRiceCooka it's solid and definitely built to last. I have taken my door panels off to fix my front window regulators a few times until i figured out why they kept failing, and still the door panels feel solid and don't creak what-so-ever. I have taken my trim pieces off multiple times to paint them and put them right back on and not had any issues with them coming loose or making noise.
@greg12m3 I feel the build quality is very high. The car made at 90some thousand miles 352/353 hp/tq to the rear wheels with only an air intake and the resonator removed so i'm sure the engine is still healthly. though i have replaced quite a few things, most of have been preventative. The car still feels very fast and pulls well above 100 effortlessly. I'm going to be going to the dragstrip soon and i'll definitely have videos from that
The M5 is the "Ultimate Driving Machine." I have to admit, no one builds them like BMW and you hear nothing but superlatives about the M5. If I could afford the maintenance, I would love to own one.
