  • Illegal bat, pointless really

  • @tumo1207 why is it ilegal

  • @247HecTIc Because it is a laminated bat. A bat made out of more than one piece of wood. illegal under the MCC laws.

  • Illegal under MCC laws so looks like a very expensive net bat!

  • @02thoeva

    Why Illegal??

Just went through the laws of the game. Nothing there that makes this beauty illegal??

Could you shed some light on this??

    Thanks.

  • @nausainik The blade must be made solely of wood, by including a lamination it is no longer soley wood. It becomes wood with glue in there.

  • @02thoeva I make bats. And other gear. I DO NOT MAKE THESE ONES. The process of gluing the two bits together is exactly the same as gluing the handle to the cleft, so........ Do you have a link of the article in the Independent?

    Thanks.

  • @nausainik The process of gluing a handle tot he cleft is different, one is allowed under MCC laws and the other isn't.

Please speak to Fraser at the MCC for further guidance.

  • @nausainik Link has been messaged to you.

  • @nausainik There's a good article in the Independent from 2008 about it, Graham Gooch famously used a laminated bat.

  • Illegal for use in cricket though under MCC rules, so looks like a very expensive net bat!
