"Growing Pains"... VERY amazing episode. He starts to date Carol (main character on the show), but he is a college kid, and, well, like college kids do sometimes, he's into drinking. He has a few (drinks), gets behind the wheel, and crashed the car. Carol and family visit him in the hospital, he says he's done with drinking. all seems good. But, as Carol and family get home, there was a phone call from the hospital saying he died. Was a tear jerker.
