  • that is true, no worries.

  • Very impressive wingate! Kept the revolutions quite high throughout, what kind of athlete is she? How much does she weigh? Worked out a power output and drop off for her?

  • y they working her so hard

  • @babeboyp Because that's the point of the test - you have to overcome the Aerobic capacity of the individual in order to engage the anaerobic energy system, and therefore effectively test the power output of that system.

  • @MrPsyxxx it's the other way round, the anaerobic system is what you use in a sprint, only when stored ATP is exhausted is the aerobic system used.

  • @kolskebabs yeah, I phrased my comment badly - but I know how the anaerobic and aerobic systems work - (but/) and once you surpass the VO2 max of an individual you engage the anaerobic system - because there is an oxygen deficit (hence lactic acid, as a result of non-oxygenated glucose being used to form energy C6H12O6 2CH3CH(OH)COOH + 2 ATP. Now, YES anaerobic system is used for short bursts of explosive power, but that's not all the Wingate test tests for.

  • @kolskebabs My basic point was, she can't be worked gently (in reply to babeoyp) because that would mean she'd be using her aerobic system, so she has to be worked hard in order to engage and be testing here anaerobic system.

Once again, I'd like to comment that my original comment was phrased badly, but also there's an element of you not reading it properly.

  • I agree, lemieuxor664, very attractive.
