  • Love this video, the only way to get a Borzi to do anything is with food in your hand. Mine can do all kind of tricks, but if she knows I have no treats, no chance.

  • Four matching self colored brindle borzoi?!?!?! Amazing and how cool!!! I'll watch for that video!!!

  • Love what you have done with these dogs!!! really cool and I love the self colored borzoi and a pair of them at that. absolutely beautiful!!!

  • @goldrushranch

Thank you so much! I need to get some video of all FOUR of my matching brindle Borzoi moving together. Hopefully that will get done very soon! :-) I, too, think they are very beautiful! Thank you again!

  • Awesome. It looks like it was quit a mess before everyone got it right.

  • LOVE the work you've done with these dogs! Just a suggestion--- next time break it up into three separate, shorter videos. And how do you teach rear end awareness?

  • @frosty73usa

Thank you for the compliment and for the suggestion too.

Rear end awareness I do a variety of things for. One is with me pivoting around staying in one place and the dog staying "in front" as I pivot. Then of course going into front passes, switching to side passes and doing circles around me backwards and backwards leg weaves. :-)

  • Wow thats impressive especially with Borzois. You can really see how happy dogs are when you clicker train

  • How do you train your heel?

Great video! I have Border Collies and love Borzoi!

  • Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed!

I train my heel .. one step at a time! :-) I use a clicker and click for "movement" and treat for position. I add more steps as we successfully go along. Be sure to take the "right size" steps for your dog. I also teach rear end awareness, so I can do nice backup and turns.

  • Wow - you got borzois do do anything at all - and you got them to beg!!!! My Mabel can sit, lie down, fetch her teddy and play tuggy.

In the morning I say "come" to have her teeth cleaned. She lies in her bed and looks at me for up to a minute. Then suddenly she leaps out and stands ready. But we love her.

  • Well done! Excellent! I'm interested in both breeds. How would you compare them in terms of intelligence, obedience, sociability etc. ?

  • Thank you so much! Borzoi are a "thinking and problem solving" breed. Most people do not think of them as smart, so they don't bother doing anything with them. But see how smart they really are, they have people fooled! ;-) Building a relationship full of fun and trust is the key! And that goes for any breed of dog!

  • The Border Collie is a "do-er" .. they just do it. They will try to out think you too. These breeds have been a great fit together for me. They are a lot alike actually in their personalities. Both breeds are sensitive and devoted, both ARE trainable; one is Dial Up, the other High Speed, but both efficient. Sociability- get them out and about to make people and places a "GOOD THING!" To get that you use Positive Training. :-) Hope this helps!

  • Thank you! Your opinion was really helpful. I got a dog which is probably a mixture of Border Collie and Welsh Corgi (I don't know for sure, it was an abandoned dog when it came to us:)). However I'm also considering getting a Borzoi. They really look thoughful:))

  • You are welcome! I am always happy to help! :-)

  • Look at those willing dogs:)Of COURSE you clicker train!!!!! Just love your vids!!Mom of a BC & Borzoi too:):)

  • so cute border collies and borzois,I think youve work very hard on them!!!

  • those borzois... WOW! first of all i'm crying my heart out because of their stunning colour, but their skills... WOW. you are an amazing trainer!

  • When they walk kicking their feet up they remind me of the hyenas in the Lion King!

  • :) Very nice :)

  • That is so great, you use clicker training right?

  • Thank you! OHH YES, I clicker train! Is there any other way to train? ;-)

  • Love Canine Freestyle! Thank you for sharing!

  • awesome video!
