  • Rock on, Brittany Gibbons! Fat is only ugly to those who hate. Show me a person devoid of "extra body fat" and that same person will almost always have a hidden indulgence that's as bad or worse than being fat!

  • America, its about time someone challenged the ridiculous mediocrity of your media industry that produces Kardishans & the like as role models for our daughters & ourselves.

  • I'm sorry but millions of people are dying because of obesity related health issues , Why is she promoting this ? Nothing wrong with being "curvy" or bigger if you are HEALTHY . Otherwise not an excuse to try to make it look cute .

  • sorry but this was not inspirational at all.

  • @azeristarify totally agree

  • Of course, I respect you for coming to terms with your body. But please pay extra attention to your health. A lot of studies shows that people who are leaner tend to live longer and suffer fewer diseases in their old age.

  • @333laurie Medical studies overwhelmingly show that, for whatever reason, overweight individuals are healthier in that regard than "leaner" (normal weight?) individuals. Furthermore, your concern is misplaced if her weight is what caused you to tell her to "pay extra attention" to her health --- everyone should do that. Refrain from promoting fat phobic rhetoric.

Search "10 Things You Thought You Knew about Obesity" on Youtube and "Obesity Myths" (PDF file) on Google for more information.

  • @333laurie absolutely

  • Of course it is much more easier to convince yourself that this shape of yours is good than DO something about looking NORMAL (I don't use the word "good", because this is not normal how you look like) OK, you can look like anyhow you want... you can eat anything you want... you can be lazy, not doing anything about it.... it's your choice, but PLEASE DON'T try to convince anyone that this is normal... it is so pathetic.

  • @mainstreams What is your operational definition of normal? Are you contrasting it with rare or classifying it as some kind of genetic anomaly? Because her size is very normal for humans.

Humans vary considerably in size and can tolerate healthily a great deal of fat. That does not mean that every individual can tolerate a particular fat percentage --- some need more than average, which is already a sizable range, and some need less. Childbearing women in particular can handle high fat %s.

  • nice speech... but you are still looking disgusting and you ARE unhealthy. Not because you have children, not because you have bad genetics, NO. You look like this, because you eat shit (bad quality foods like sugar and flour, fastfood etc.) You don't have to convince anybody or yourself that you are looking good, because you are NOT. (Yea.. of course other fat women will agree with you) Being healthy and looking good is not a big deal...

  • @mainstreams You claim, among other presumably trollish things, that she does not look good. You are entitled to your opinion, but you are implying here that she does not possess the agency to classify herself as good looking, and that only you, or at least individuals who are not her or other fat women, are permitted to conclude such a thing. Thus, you are objectifying her and other fat women by implying that they must look outside of themselves for valid acceptance.

    Which is false.

  • @mainstreams I think you missed the point entirely. She isn't championing that being overweight (or underweight) is "healthy" or "preferred." She is simply saying that our weight doesn't define our self-worth, and I wholeheartedly agree (and for the record, I'm on the low end of normal for BMI, and I spent most of my life in the "underweight" category, hardly a "fat woman"). "Disgusting" shouldn't be in the vocabulary to describe ANY person. Brittany gets that. And she's beautiful for it.

  • @servant4christ21 I didn't want to be mean or something... it is just pathetic how fat people try to convince everyone that we have to accept them... because they are LAZY to diet and exercise, so it is more simple to convince everyone that this is normal. EVERYONE can look good IF THEY WANT. If she doesn't want to diet, it's ok, but STFU. (btw BMI is a bullshit... it doesn't say how much fat you have on your body)

  • @mainstreams Agreed

  • Love This!
