They have to change the packing just as they would any other dressing on any other wound to clean out the infected area. After they remove this goss they will fill it again and then go threw the same process until the wound is healed. If not changed the infection begins to grow on the goss which defuses the hole point of packing it. Basically the pus and necroted skin sticks to the dressing and is removed when dressing is. Cleans the whole thing out.

if you're colonized w/mrsa this is a possibility...you can try decolonizing with nasal ointment and chlorhexidine body washes but if you're in a family everyone's gotta do it and it hasn't been super successful. bactrim and clindamycin still work on most mrsa.
wash your hands alot and take showers alot and stay clean and clean out all of your cuts and scratchs with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. ive had it twice once from shaving and another from getting cut at work shit HURTS

Uhg I got staph infection on my arm from my disgusting neighbors. At first it started out like a mosquito bite, Then it started rotting off from the top to the bottom, Then it started to make a huge hole. I thought like many people it was a spider bite, so I went to the hospitable and they told me it was staph. The hole was about 1 inch deep and 1 inch wide (I still have the scar on my arm). It was one of the most horrible and hard to get rid of infections I've ever had.
I ha d MRSA, & had no idea of how serious it is until recently. I was fucked up pretty bda, I had sores all over my body. I had it for more than a week before it was treated. There was nights where I was sweating cold

This staph infection or (mrsa) is really real. Yes staph infection is harmful and can be antibiotic resistance, But if you wash your hand reguarly, cover open wounds, and avoid touching people and items used by people you will be fine. In my school i always carry around some purell.

This is nothing to panic about. As long as you keep your self happy and wash your hands for atleast 30 seconds a couple times a day you really don't have anything to be worried about and if someone doesn have it don't make contact with them.

if you're colonized w/mrsa this is a possibility...you can try decolonizing with nasal ointment and chlorhexidine body washes but if you're in a family everyone's gotta do it and it hasn't been super successful. bactrim and clindamycin still work on most mrsa.

I was in the hospital for two weeks 2 years ago with a staph infection.
It was actually inside my left knee *painful*
Some douche in a coat stuck a needle the size of a shishkebab in my knee to get a culture and nothing came out.
And to make matters worse, the week before that, i was screaming in pain a certain Saturday, and my bitch, er stepmom, kept telling me to shut up and stop being a baby.

I had the exact same thing only a circle that was 1.5 inches in diameter in my ARMPIT!!! thankfully it was not actually MRSA it was another form of staph but i had that same packing and everything. I had like close to 4 feet of packing. It freaked my out when the doctor pulled the whole thing out for the first time.

Ive been on a little campaign to educate the people on youtube who think MRSA and other staph infections are actually brown recluse and black widow bites. Sure some might be bites, but anyone who has had MRSA or knows about it can tell the difference. Go check out these videos and see if I'm right in my analysis of some of the infections. They SO want to believe that little invisible bacteria couldnt be the cause. I guess its natural to place blame on a tangible thing like a spider bite.

there is research that is showing that special honey from bees in New Zealand that pollinate a tree called Manuka creates a naturally occuring hydrogen peroxide like enzyme that kills mrsa (wont stop a huge festering infection but could stop a new infection in theory) and isnt harsh on human tissue like regular hydrogen peroxide is. They are also experimenting wtih maggots (no joke) to eat active mrsa infections.

MRSA is a nasty infection and if you can get rid of it ur blessed because there really is no cure for it. Remember people: KEEP CLEAN!!!! Wash your hands!! Notice he was wearing gloves? BTW, if you aquire this while in the hospital, the hospital is responsible for paying for treatment. Medicare and Medicaid will now longer pay for treatments. MRSA and VRE are the biggest nosocomial infections out there aside from bed sores and UTI's.

Uhg I got staph infection on my arm from my disgusting neighbors. At first it started out like a mosquito bite, Then it started rotting off from the top to the bottom, Then it started to make a huge hole. I thought like many people it was a spider bite, so I went to the hospitable and they told me it was staph. The hole was about 1 inch deep and 1 inch wide (I still have the scar on my arm). It was one of the most horrible and hard to get rid of infections I've ever had.
