Looks rather shit. Are there such impossible problems as in Gothic 3? You know, how in G3 you could clean a platoon's worth of Orcs without receiving a scratch, but then having your ass handed to you by a boar?

@Luukeksi lol so true, but if you download the community patch(es) for G3 it becomes way better, and i think that the creators of G3, wich also created risen, have learned from their mistakes, just look up some videos on youtube, like fighting an ogre, then you will see, its become WAY more difficult, and less button bashing style, hope this helps ;) :p

@Luukeksi No, Risen is Piranha Bytes' most well-structured , well-balanced, user-friendly game to date. Risen is essentially Piranha Bytes' way of making up for Gothic 3, in a way. As for this video, it's just crappy because human NPCs can't block against unarmed attacks, not that you'll use them, if you have any sense. The combat system is actually pretty rewarding and decent. Not too unforgiving, nor too simplistic; rewards you for having good reflexes and not spamming buttons/keys/lmb.

Have you been in the secret part of the library and in Abrax' laboratory? If you haven't found that yet, talk to Ash (the novice sweeping the ground near the corridor that leads to the library).

Also, you need to get into the graveyard. In the course of the murder investigation quest you'll get access there.

its certainly not complex, but it is a major improvement over the Gothic games. I like it a lot, its fun. Each weapon class has its own style. Sheilds really work. There is more blood and better sound effects
