Probably? Most definately. Senna's crash was similar to this, infact probably not as severe in terms of speed or ferocity, but he was killed all the same. The modern F1 car teamed with the safety cell is what saved Kubicas life. Mazing to believe he only got a broken/sprained ankle.

Besides, those 2 crashes took place many years from each other, and a great deal of improvements had been made... Not to mention that Dale didn't want to use HANS, nor the "full helmets", an old school driver...
